Location, Location, Location! Many people feel this property is similar to being on a houseboat. The spacious deck is directly over the water of Lake San Cristobal. You can hear the lapping of waves as you read or eat on the lovely front deck. The majestic mountains surrounding the lake are green in summer, aspen covered in fall, and snow covered in winter.
The area is well know for its five fourteen thousand foot mountain peaks. Hiking on the many surrounding trails will follow streams, waterfalls, and valleys filled with wildflowers. There is also the wonderful Alpine Loop that takes jeeps and four-wheelers across the continental divide to the high country land of mountain Shepherds and tundra. Silverton and ghost towns such as Animas Forks are also along this route.
Of course fishermen think this is paradise. The lake and all the surrounding streams provide wonderful fishing. In September Lake City has a Wine and Music Festival. In winter there is abundant snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and ice climbing. The beauty and serenity of the forests at this time offer experiences to be remembered. Summary: This home was in the most incredible spot. What a view ! Nicely furnished and very comfortable. The only negative would be the master shower. Needs some updating and love. Otherwise it was perfect.

Summary: The location is great for hiking and off-roading, just off the start of the Alpine Loop. The views off the deck are awesome. We enjoyed sitting out there in the late afternoons after a day hiking. Owner proactively let us know of a couple of minor issues and was quick to respond when needed. Easy to find and short drive into town. Bed in main bedroom is very soft. Too soft for us but this is personal preference. Place is starting to show age with decor and with several appliances not working or not working well. Was not dirty but wasn’t particularly clean either.

Summary: This is the 2nd time I have stayed here and we think it is great, right on the lake, easy access to town. We spent all of both days we were there fishing on the lake spending time with the granddaughters. I will stay there anytime I come to Lake City.

Summary: The cabin was very well stocked with everything that we needed. The owner is right next door and very happy to answer questions and tell you the best places to go. We had been to Lake City twice before and love it. There are so many trails to explore and wildlife to see.

Summary: I surprised my wife by bringing her here for our 25th anniversary and she absolutely loved it and we’re already trying to plan our trip back. My only regret is not staying longer. I recommend at least a week. We loved that the deck is right on the water and the house has everything you need to feel at home just bring your clothes and food!

Summary: We love Lake City in the winter; we have the place all to ourselves and our stay here was wonderful. Fantastic location with outstanding views, beautiful and clean space. Excellent MB with great sitting area with breathtaking views. Highly recommend.
