Positive: This hotel was a pure delight, located centrally in the small town of Flåm. It's easy to get from the train to the fjord cruise and from cruise ships. All the details were pitch perfect to feel welcome and cozy. This is exactly what I needed and more after many city-based stays on this trip.

Negative: Nothing was not to like for me. Everything was just right. Unfussy. Comfortable. Chic. Rustic.

Positive: Very nice welcome tray with chocolates and water. Excellent breakfast. View from the balcony is amazing, so long as there isn’t a cruise ship in port. Cozy lounge area.

Positive: Our room had a balcony with a lovely view across the fjord. Breakfast was very good with a great selection. Everything was within easy walking distance of the hotel.

Negative: There was no lift and bags had to be carried up to the room but that didn’t bother us.

Positive: The room was clean and comfortable for 2 (mom and son). It would have been tight for a larger family. In late afternoon when the tour groups left the area became quiet and lovely. There are several dining options--from food trucks to restaurants and cafes.

Negative: I "booked" a fjord view room (for a quieter night). I got a first floor room with a terrace in the parking lot. There was a lot of foot traffic outside and inside because the room was close to the front desk. Soooooo many tourists--buses and boats and cars Oh My! Many parts of Norway cater to peace and quiet, this is not one of them. The nærøyfjord is beautiful and worth the visit but be ready to be pushed through the process with large groups of tourists. Not the hotels fault but it does affect the experience since the hotel is in the middle of it all.

Summary: Perfect location to explore nærøyfjord--LOTS of tourists during the day, but quiet at night.
