Positive: The location within a farm at the foot of the mountains

Negative: Could have been better cleaned, especially the kitchen area. We arrived at 5pm to find our apartment had not been cleaned from the previous guests, we called the host who provided no apologies but quickly moved us to another apartment.

Positive: It was in the middle of a farm and the feeling of waking up in the morning and open the door on the vast view of the mountains was so unique while you have the chance to see the beautiful sheeps and cows on the greenery fields around the property.

Negative: It was a little bit far from the Flam’s port and the train station but it was worth it. When we enter the house the smell of chlorine was so intense that I had to burn incense.

Positive: Brekke Apartments we got for 7 pax is huge standalone unit which was good for our group size. We had a car so just 5 mins to Flam train station and facilities. If no car, safe to walk to station. Rooms and beds clean and comfortable. Beds were made when arrived but need to remove upon check-out. Realised most apartments in Norway we had to do this so it is a matter of getting used to. For our group size having 2 bathroom are really important. Of course we have to watch for our bathing intervals not to affect the hot water flow. Great to meet staff, friendly and responsive when we checked-in.

Negative: TV not working to watch local channels and we didnt manage to have it fix during our stay.

Negative: Limited kitchen utensils and no electric kettle. The microwave on top of the small fridge not ideal if travelling with children.

Negative: Beds and pillows very uncomfortable. It’s a very basic accommodation. You can hear every sound from the chalets on both sides of you.
