Positive: It was perfect ! Room was very nice , good size , with a nice balcony . The owner was extremely nice ! He recomended us nice trails to walk and he gave us a ride to see snow monkeys . Our best regards from Mexico !

Positive: Owner was very accommodating, friendly and helpful :) He drove me to the Monkey Park on two days and explained the 9 bath houses in Shibu Onsen (just a short walk). I loved that the ryokan felt like “home” and would love to return! Just a short, easy walk from the train station. The onsen waters are amazing! Thank you for a lovely stay in your beautiful town❤️

Negative: Just a bit worn but overall a great value ! Felt like home!

Summary: Just lovely! A gem of a town .. like going back in time! So happy I accidentally stumbled across it!

Positive: Very kind hosts - we arrived early expecting to just drop our bags and they let us check in. Arranged to drive us to the monkey park and drove us to the station too, providing lots of local information. Private onsen was a really nice experience for us as a family. The location is great to get to from the station. Room was really as expected - balcony area was nice to chill out in with a view of the mountains. Breakfast was simple but nice with a piano that could play itself! It's an unprententious and authentic place with heaps of character, while being very foreign tourist friendly.

Negative: Bit of a strange smell in the bathroom.

Summary: Great hospitality and a lovely break from city hustle and bustle

Positive: Easy to find and spacious enough room. Very helpful proprietor and a good breakfast.

Negative: The price is relatively high for the stay. It’s an older inn with very thin walls and onsen baths that are not well-maintained in terms of flow or cleanliness. For example the bathwater when we were there was 48 degrees which may be dangerous or unusable.

Positive: Absolutely wonderful Such a beautiful authentic Ryokan with beautiful views of mountain surroundings. Hosts were truly wonderful. Welcoming in every way: drove us to the snow monkeys; gave a birthday gift ; left us with the cutest monkey ribbons; allowed us to have a couples onsen schedule etc etc This Ryokan is a hidden gem and we couldn’t recommend it more. We will be back again
