Positive: Beautiful villa with a private onsen, with an amazing view of the mountains. Dinner and breakfast were very good. Location perfect for visiting the snow monkeys. Staff were very friendly. Overall a great stay; wish we could have stayed longer!

Positive: Serene, minimalistic style villas suitable for families. The in-house onsen on the villa’s terrace is a great bonus, be mindful that 43 degrees Celsius water can feel quite hot, luckily you can add ice cold water. Extremely kind and helpful service overall, Joyce is a gem. Both Japanese style and continental breakfast are good, make sure to share your wishes for what you like to eat. The dinners were awesome, so many great dishes to try out and the freshest imaginable sushi. I warmly recommend a stay here.

Negative: Please note that the villas face a road, which doesn’t have a lot of car traffic, but pedestrians walking towards the entrance of the monkey park. The terrace with the onsen is out of sight for those passing by, but the other part of the terrace felt a bit exposed. Please also note that our villa had steep stairs to the basement bed room, which might not make it suitable for families with small children.

Summary: Wonderful stay at calm, minimalistic villa with superb service and excellent food.

Positive: Warm welcome from our hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Great location within walking distance to snow monkey park and local town. Well appointed and spacious villa. Excellent breakfast and dinner, the latter was in the form of a tasting menu so had the opportunity to explore Japanese cuisine that we wouldn't normally opt for. On our second night we had the place to ourselves so it felt very special.

Negative: Nothing - everything was fabulous.
