Positive: This is a very special find. A little beach house at an amazing location (you could not get closer to the beach) close to Yala National Park. We stayed for 1 night while doing a safari with our 2 kids. Communication with Gayan was easy from the start. He was always helpful. The sea is not for swimming but you will have the beach almost all to yourself. Next door is a restaurant with pool where you can easily spend an afternoon (like we did) and enjoy the views. If you want authenticity, serenity and local flavors on your trip to Yala look no further. Gayan and his wife also made us breakfast when we came back from our morning safari, thank you for everything!

Positive: Very cozy, all was pristine clean, my little one adored the hammock. The property has direct access to the beach. It is well thought through. The Air con worked. It is in nature and the place is well arranged for a relaxed holiday. Not pretentious. The owners were well educated and had great English and even helped us out by arranging a driver with their own car on a public holiday when we were searching for an option of going to Nuwara Elia. Given petrol is being rationed right now, we are very grateful.

Negative: I have an irrational fear of tsunami, there is not a good escape path to an elevated area from the house on foot.

Positive: We had an excellent stay at Garnet Yala Beach. The property is very comfortable and inviting, the room is spacious and clean, and the adjacent kitchen is well equipped. The garden is bustling with greenery and cute animals that keep their distance but are fun to observe (iguanas, squirrels, birds). There is direct access to a dreamy beach you can enjoy pretty much on your own except for the occasional tourist, fisherman or friendly stray dog. A fancy restaurant with a pool is right next door. Gayan and his wife are fantastic hosts, very caring, attentive and generous, and complete the great experience.

Negative: Nothing to mention here :)

Positive: We loved our stay here. The hotel is right on the beach, and the location is amazing. It is very peaceful and private, with only the sound of the waves around us. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sea. The Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious and fresh, and we enjoyed it a lot. Everything felt simple, calm, and comfortable. We would definitely come back again.

Positive: We loved the location and the isolation as we do enjoy being quiet and alone to relax. I loved the proximity and access to the beach! The decor was well done and the veranda was absolutely lovely to sit out on and relax. The hosts were amazing and really bent over backwards to ensure we were comfortable arranging us a tuk tuk driver who we could call as needed .

Negative: I think a solar geyser installation would work really well. Perhaps the kitchen needs a better cooking solution and there possibly needs a bigger sink installed with a plug. I think that people might appreciate having a washing machine. We did like the newly installed cover and deck but I think the roof material chosen is wrong as it was extremely hot under it, also the concrete was breaking up so needs attention. On the hot days a good fan on the veranda would be very welcomed.
