Positive: The room was spacious and had everything we needed for our short stay. The owners were so lovely and accommodating - they let us check in to a room early after a long sleeper bus. The location was a short distance away from cafes and restaurants which was perfect.

Negative: Breakfast options were limited. They did kindly make us some tofu as vegans which wasn’t on the menu. The second day there were no staff around so we had to wait at least 45 minutes for someone to arrive to order along with another guest.

Positive: The view from the restaurant is great. Spacious room, if you care. The ladies in the kitchen were lovely.

Negative: If you're on a budget, this place is just not worth the money if you compare the standard and see what other places offer for much, much less. The service was extremely poor; we were ready for breakfast soon after 7; there was nobody around for another 20 minutes, until we searched for them. The room , as the whole house and the restaurant, do not look welcoming. That's why, probably, most guests went to the neighbours. The potential is there... just needs more improvements.

Positive: Amazing place with a very spacious room and an awesome balcony. The views of the river and sunset were absolutely incredible. The host was warm and welcoming, taking great care to ensure a comfortable stay. Breakfast was good, and I could easily rent a scooter directly from the host, which was very convenient. He even went the extra mile by dropping me off at the bus station. Truly enjoyed my stay!

Positive: The view was good. The rooms were classical vietnamese in good condition and clean.

Negative: We were arriving late at night and agreed that the host will pick us up from the station (it was his idea, he proposed himself. 100k for 0.9 km in car - little bit pricy but OK). But he didn’t show up and didn’t pick up the phone. When we came to the property we didn’t know where to go and nobody greeted us and showed us our room. So we chose one, which turned out not to be ours and we had to switch the next day. Breakfast was not good. Cups were dirty. We have traveled a lot in Vietnam and we can say that it was not so much welcoming service. When we wanted to rent a scooter they gave us a scooter which obviously was not safe to drive. We complained and they changed it to a better one. In total, we felt that everything was made in order to earn the most money rather than a pleasent and comfortable stay for the guests.

Positive: The view from our large windows were amazing, photos don't do it justice. Our room was modern, very spacious, clean and very comfortable beds. The shower was nice and hot with good pressure. Great spot for breakfast right by the River. Friendly owner. Free kayak and bikes a bonus..

Negative: Speaker from communist party broadcasting at 7am. But this can be heard in many places in Vietnam

Positive: We really enjoyed our two night stay at the Duong Riverside Homestay. The host Binh and his family were so welcoming and attentive to our every need. He organised our tours to the caves and the bus to our next destination. The room was very clean and spacious with a superb view overlooking the river. The food and service was excellent. The location is perfect, right on the river and just a short walk to the tourism centre and main town. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Phong Nha.

Positive: This place is so beautiful. One of the best places with this awesome view every morning. I got my breakfast here, you see the mountains and the lake, peaceful nature. My room was huge and you can have a bike for free. The family is so kind. I would come back for sure!
