Positive: This property is beautifully located right next to the River. It is tranquil and feels very homely. The room was a good size, and everything was clean. The water pressure and temperature was surprisingly good, which is welcome after a long day of travel or caving. The standout for this stay was how accommodating and friendly the host was - whether it was helping with transport details, or making sure you were fed (she whipped up breakfast to go for me when I was running late to leave). I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Positive: Chung was an excellent host, always on hand to support, answer any questions and would look to go out of her way to make your stay comfortable. Even before arriving to stay, she supported with tour information and arranged the booking, as well as airport transfers. I can't speak highly enough of the hospitality that was offered. The staff generally did everything to make the stay as pleasant as they could. The property was right next to the river which was nice and about an hours walk to the main row of shops and restaurants.

Positive: We had such a great time at Son River House! The best thing is the location as it is quite far (40min walk) from the city center but right upon the river. The center is nothing special, you'd rather be a bit remote. You can experience silence in Vietnam 😂 it is very chill and the whole homestay is lovely. There are SUP and bicycles to be freely used by the guest. Chung and all the staff are super nice. You can also have breakfast or grab a bite on the site but there are restaurants near by for the evening meal. From 5-6pm the local kids come here to have a swim in the river it seems like a very friendly and nice neighbourhood. I would totally recommand to rent a motorbike from the hostel directly and enjoy all the nearby activities phong nha has to offer at your own pace.

Positive: We stayed for two nights and I did not want to leave at the end. The homestay is so spacious, directly overlooking the river, with designated stairs to go for a dip or stand-up paddling with an incredible backdrop. I highly recommend for groups or familys who are looking for a quiet getaway, since the stay is at the end of the town's street. The kids can run around the inner yard, and in the evening, it is a perfect place to order food, have some drinks with or without other guests. It was the perfect place to have breakfast in the morning too, with lots of greenery providing shade while you can watch the tour boats to the phong nha cave coming and going. But the best thing was the woman who took care of the stay while we were there. She told us many things about the area and her family (in Vietnamese). At the end, she felt more like a friend or big sister than a staff, showing Vietnamese hospitality and just their warm culture from its best side. The room was spacious, with many windows, the AC worked really well and living room and the bathroom were really clean. It was an amazing value for money. If you are looking for a budget stay to have some quality time with friends or family, this one is it.

Positive: Beautiful place by the river that was nice to swim in as well. Hosts were so nice and hospitable, and they helped us in every way possible, including with food, traveling, tours, and more. Lovely atmosphere in general with warm people and kids playing around spreading joy.

Negative: Be aware that this homestay is a little aside from other businesses such as restaurants and cafes. But everything we needed the hosts offered their help to provide.
