Positive: The people that work here are incredibily nice!! Even though we already checked out at 11.00 am, we still got to shower late in the evening, before we had to go to the airport. They were very friendly and told us the place should feel like home for us, it sure did!

Positive: My daughter and I spent three nights at Turtle Bay Beach Resort. Our triple room was comfortable and spacious, with an ocean view balcony. The food was delicious and the staff could not be more helpful. The location is excellent for snorkelling. I would recommend Turtle Bay Beach Resort to any visitor to the Mirissa area.

Positive: I stayed here for 3 nights and loved the lokation. It wasn’t a private beach, but as a guest at the hotel (not a resort) you could have a subbed, snorkeling gear and beach towel for free. I went snorkling one morning and there was a sea turtle right in front of the hotel. The staff said the chances of seeing theen are best between 8-12 in the morning. I usually had other plans/tours in the morning so I only made it to the beach in the morning one day. But I never had a problem finding a sunbed in the afternoon when I got there. I’m also a solo traveler so that makes it easier too if course. Right beside the hotels area in the beach there are other people renting out sunbeds and snorkeling gear. A sunbed is 1000 and mask plus finns are also 1000. The entrance to the hotel is also the entrance to Turtle beach so many people will pass through here. The hotel also have a toilet for all the beach goers to use - free of charge. It was okay clean, but while staying at the hotel I preferred to use the toilet in my room. The water here is also calm so I could swim in the sea here unlike other places in Mirissa where the waves were to strong/high. I came back to Mirissa later (and stayed elsewhere) but came to this beach again every day simply because I found turtle bay to be the best place to swim. I loved the shower! Breakfast was okay. For the price and the location I will say it was pretty good.

Negative: My room smelled old/moldy:( And it clearly needed some fixing of several things in the room. The fridge was covered in rust. The mosquito nets need to be changed as the corners were ruined. It was very loud at night. I asked one of the staff members where it came from and he told me it was another place about 100 meters down the road. It’s was so loud that I had to wear noise canceling headphones in my hotelroom if I didn’t want to hear it when I was there or when going to sleep. The staff seemed friendly, but there were so many of them that almost every contact I had with them became confusing simply because one didn’t know what the others were doing. Every day on the beach I had to say several times that I lived at the hotel so I should not pay anything. That was fine for a little while and either the same person or another came and asked if I had paid. It got tiresome. 10 days after I checked out of the hotel I get an email from booking stating that the hotel has told them that I never showed up for my reservation. I ate at the restaurant once. I found it overpriced for the quality. There are so many restaurants within walking distance so it’s not a problem. The breakfast starts late. At 8.30. On the days I had a tour I did not get breakfast since it started so late.

Summary: Perfect location, but it comes with a price.

Positive: Fantastic accomodation right on the beach! We had an amazing time here - the staff were lovely and very helpful, the room was big and clean and the breakfast was great. We would definitely come back again and highly recommend this place to everyone.

Positive: It had a private beach and the view was spectacular! Lots of activities could also be organised from the resort. If you’re a skilled swimmer, you could go snorkelling on your own for free! Also the sunset watching experience was great! Also the food is really good at this resort’s restaurant!
