Positive: The small hotel is nicely located on a small stretch of beach and when the tide is down you can walk over to the main Mirrissa Beach which is lovely for barefoot walking. The beachfront is rustic with local outrigger boats and the view from hotel balconies is lovely, particularly at sunset. The rooms are spacious and well designed, and the owners are lovely and willing to provide any advice or assistance. Breakfast is great with fresh fruit and good coffee. Altogether a great stay for six nights.

Negative: The only drawback is that squatters on a vacant property next door run a generator, which is a bit noisy from the balcony and pool, but you can't hear it on the beach from the waves.

Positive: This little gem of a find was a fantastic place to stay for two nights. A lovely couple own and run this hotel. Within an hour you feel like you are part of the family and every need is catered for. With its own beach, fantastic swimming pool and lovely clean and well appointed rooms you are spoiled for choice on where to spend your time. Comfortable beds and a fantastic breakfast add to this great experience.

Positive: A truly wonderful stay at this beach hotel. The location was perfect with a private beach just steps away, and the pool area was absolutely lovely. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The staff were warm and welcoming, and we especially loved meeting the friendly hotel dog, which added a really personal touch. Great amenities and a relaxing atmosphere made it a stay to remember.

Positive: We had the most wonderful stay at BeachMirissa and honestly didn’t want to leave! The hosts were amazing—so welcoming, attentive, and truly made us feel at home. We were traveling with our 4-month-old and 4-year-old, and they went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Our room was bright, spacious, and spotlessly clean with a breathtaking view. Breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of options—fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, sausages, cereal, and pancakes. The location couldn’t have been better: right on the beach, which felt almost private as it was never too crowded. It’s also in a great spot with lots of restaurants nearby, and the hosts were happy to give recommendations. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. They arranged our airport pickup (including a car seat for the baby), organised a driver for our day trip to Galle, Unawatuna, and the turtle hatchery, and helped with transport for the next part of our trip. It was a perfect stay, and we’d return in a heartbeat the next time we’re in Sri Lanka!

Positive: Had a fantastic stay at a hotel run very kind family—dad, mom and son. The hospitality was amazing, and the staff was super focused on great service. The hotel is right on the beach in a less touristy area, and it was great to grab a drink right on the sand at either Tipsy Turtle or Bunga Bunga

Negative: Ventilation in the bathroom after a shower

Positive: Good communication throughout . Very friendly owners with their lovely dog. Warm welcome , clear explanation and comfortable , clean room with everything needed including a cloth horse to dry up towels and swimming costume on the terrace . A/C and fan working well . Very pleasant room and very large bathroom. Breakfast choice of western or Sri Lanka was served out and excellent. They can accommodate dietary needs . Restaurants recommendation worked well for us . The beach is right at the back of the hotel - direct access! Transport to Galle and to Weligama station were organised efficiently by hotel at our request - driver came on time . Price agreed ahead of the service. We requested a simple packed lunch early morning in our last day as we had to take the train and they packed what we asked for. The property has an adjacent poster / souvenir shop which has interesting objects and cards .

Positive: Property is very close to the beach. The room was very clean and spacious and the balcony is also spacious. The owner and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was delicious. If you want Sri Lankan food for breakfast you have to tell them the previous day.
