Positive: Minara Guest House in Mirissa was a solid little stay. The staff were super friendly and helpful, which made the experience feel relaxed and easy. They also had a scooter available to rent, which came in handy for getting around and exploring the area. The room was simple but comfortable, with everything we needed. The bathroom could definitely use a bit of an upgrade, but it did the job. The location wasn’t right in the heart of things, but it suited our needs just fine—quiet, and still easy enough to get where we wanted to go. All in all, a good value stay with great service and the basics covered.

Positive: The house was well furnished. The behavior of the host was so homely.

Negative: Car access is difficult. You have to drop on the main road and walk for 30-40 sec. We had some luggage that's why it was a little bit of a problem though the host eagerly helped with carrying baggage.

Positive: I booked room 5 on the top floor for 41 nights. It’s a large, comfortable room, huge bed, very bright, AC and hot water work fine. There’s a common kitchen with a boiler and a fridge. Beautiful balcony with wandering monkeys, who are friendly and will light up your day! Kind staff bring tea in the morning and i even got a delicious homecooked dinner twice from Sampath’s lovely sister in law. Just off the main road so convenient location but without the noise. Most nights you’ll only hear the calming chants from the nearby temple. Truly an oasis. It’s not set up for long-term stays but the owners were very accomodating by providing everything i needed, like a cupboard, a desk and my own router (i was working remotely so internet was very important). They were also very kind to help arrange transport when i needed it, cheap and trusted drivers for getaways around the country. They live on the property so they’re always there to help but they also respect your privacy. It’s right by coconut tree hill and a few steps to the beach. The main part of town with the best restaurants is a 20 minute walk, but there’s stores and restaurants right by the Guest House as well.

Negative: The main road is dark at night so walking back is a bit daunting, although i always felt safe. During the last couple of weeks they were doing some construction on the roof right above me, it was a bit uncomfortable, but i guess it makes sense to spruce up the place during low season. The common kitchen could be refubrished and i would have loved to have a mini fridge in the room. All in all i was very happy here. 100% would stay again.
