Positive: Very friendly family together with the housekeeper, who was amazing. She helped with breakfast and ensured we had everything in our room. The breakfast is amazing and the location is across the road from the beach.

Positive: Morning Star is a very pleasant hotel with well-maintained gardens and amenities. Despite its location by the main road, our garden-facing room was quiet and peaceful. The owners are very kind and helpful. Breakfast is tasty, though it can be a bit repetitive, and the pool is lovely. It’s a perfect base for exploring – Turtle Beach is right across the street, and Coconut Tree Hill and Parrot Island are just a short walk away.

Positive: Morning Star is an oasis 50 metres from the beach and within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in Mirissa. I loved my upstairs room overlooking the pool. So nice watching the wildlife with a cuppa in the morning. The breakfast includes fresh fruit, eggs, toast and good coffee.The family who run it and the housekeeper are lovely. Would definitely recommend!

Positive: The staff were lovely, especially the cleaner, best breakfast that we had in Sri Lanka. The rooms were lovely including mosquito nets and the pool is nice. So close to the beach also.

Negative: Just a warning the stairs are super slippery when wet!

Positive: Run by a beautiful family. So friendly and helpful. Location was perfect - across the road from turtle beach road and 2 minutes to the beginning of all the Marissa life that is happening. Food was good. Pool a relief at end of day. Fireflies around at night made it so relaxing. Would go back again.
