Positive: A new hostel in the heart of the city, close to all the amenities. Everything was very clean, and the soft bed made me sleep very well. The friendly staff helped me with snorkeling tours and provided cookies, toast, coffee, and tea.

Positive: Everything is brand new. The water heaters for the showers are digital and work fantastically. Everything is tiled and clean. Brand new toilets for a brand new hostel. The beds are pods, giving incredible privacy. The mattress was comfortable. The best thing was the manager. He made me feel at home, offering me bread and cookies and coffee. Even when I felt uncomfortable because of sand from the beach, he said don't worry, it can be cleaned. There is hot and cold filtered water. Because of the structure of the pods, it's pretty isolated from outside noise, which is important on phi phi. The location is good, close to the centre but not in too crazy an area.

Negative: Everything was great.

Positive: Mr Nicky made this an absolute wonderful place to stay on the island.. he keeps the place spotlessly clean and was always available to help with advice.. booked a tour with him for snorkeling and he put me in touch with tour guide Mr Adam which again was a truly epic experience.. definitely recommend.. very kind people who made my stay on the island so memorable. Would recommend in a heart beat. Thank you so much guys and keep up the great work!

Positive: It has everything you need, very clean and comfortable with our own cubby style bunk so private and dark. The owner is so lovely and happy to help with tickets and any recommendations. Bonus was coffee, toast and fruit in the morning. I had a late ferry out and they were happy for me to store my bag and chill in the common area when I needed a break from the sun. Highly recommend The City Hostel if your looking for a quiet comfortable place to stay on Phi Phi.
