Positive: Great and friendly staff who'll help you with anything you need. Breakfast and the packed lunch were very tasty. Location works well if you want to do the Kumano Kodo in 2 days. Definitely recommended!

Negative: Room with toilet is a bit small.

Positive: The building itself was a treat, as was its perfect location after a long day of hiking. But most importantly, the staff was incredible!!!! Hitomi was an incredible host and made me feel welcome and taken care of. Giovanni was a wonderful chef and host too ☺️

Negative: The toilets were a little bit awkward, but otherwise it was amazing!

Positive: We ordered the Dinner, it was delicous! (The owner has goats, so parts of the meal came with cheese from these goats. Also the two who worked there were friendly and helpful, if we would come back one day, we would choose this guesthouse again! Behind the house is a beergarden and you can find the oldest cherry-tree of the prefektur in the Garden.

Positive: Everything was fantastic: the amazing staff we met, who took care of us the best way possible (thank you so much), delicious homemade food we ate (catering for our special requirements as well) , and beautiful home and room. Perfect stay - I would have stayed there for a week !

Positive: The NONAGASE was an amazing and convenient location for the Kumano to stay in. The bus stop is literally out the front !! It was trendy, clean and there’s a bar out the back for those thirsty after a long day on the track. I want to personally thank Hitomi for collecting me from a roadside location in 35 degree heat on the first day of the trek which was unbelievable service. Thanks Hitomi - you are the best 😜🙏

Positive: Our host Hitomi (and her team) go above and beyond to define what good hospitality means. She was kind, considerate, and caring, and she is a superb cook. We had an absolutely fantastic stay after a long hike, and came out rejuvenated. The place itself is also magnificent: a knockout traditional property.

Positive: Hitomi was so wonderful. She greeted us warmly and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend ordering dinner. The dinner she cooked for us was made from local ingredients and we could feel and taste how much time and care she puts into her dishes. Hitomi is a very experienced Kumano Kodo hiker, and she even took the time to write us a personalised itinerary based on our needs. She also took some amazing photos of us in our yukatas with the beautiful house and scenery. So glad to have these nice photos to remember our stay :)

Positive: I could not expect more from the staff. They were beyond friendly, professional, helpful, and gracious. One of the best places I stayed in Japan this trip.

Positive: The food was the best that I had on my trip, they had Japanese cuisine mixed with Italian techniques, the drinks were also great. The staff was really helpful and friendly. The vibes of the room and the whole house were unique. Plus, if you are doing the Kumano Kodo, Nonagase Guest House is right on the path and so you don't have to take a detour and the nearest shop is like a 10 minute walk.
