The hotel offers a truly unique experience, allowing you to immerse yourself in nature and wildlife while enjoying excellent comfort and hospitality. One of the highlights is the opportunity to encounter wildlife right within the hotel grounds, making every walk an adventure. The food was outstanding, with an impressive variety and quality that exceeded our expectations, especially considering the hotel's remote location in the heart of the wild. A special thank you to Dilhara, who escorted us to our room at night and shared fascinating stories about the wildlife that can be found around the property. He's such a passionate person! This hotel is a truly exceptional place, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable wildlife experience in Sri Lanka.

Positive: Absolutely loved this place! We had a hut on stilts away from the main area. Everything was detailed, bed comfortable, TV, fridge etc. The food was amazing with such a vast variety to choose from. The staff were fabulous, friendly, helpful, cheerful. The wildlife were so entertaining to watch. It was my birthday….they organized a cake, sang HB with beautiful blessings. Just when I didn’t think life couldn’t get any better on our last night management organized for my husband & I a secret special romantic dinner beside the pool. Our own chef & waiters no less!! We were surprised & super grateful for this kind gesture. Cinnamon Yala also arranged our morning Safari…..excellent! And we were lucky enough too see a leopard & elephants 🙂 We can’t speak highly enough of our wonderful stay & thanks so much to the mgmt & staff who make’s experience’s like this possible. 🙏. We appreciate you all

Positive: Our two-night stay at Cinnamon Wild Yala, including the private morning safari, was simply unforgettable. From start to finish, it exceeded every expectation and has become one of the most memorable travel experiences we’ve ever had. The absolute highlight was our incredible safari guide, Rohan. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and expertise were outstanding, and we genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Thanks to his careful planning, we were first in line at the Yala gates and the second jeep into the park, giving us an incredible advantage. Within the first 30 minutes, Rohan guided us to a pair of magnificent leopards basking in the beautiful morning light—an absolutely breathtaking sight. Even more impressively, he and our driver expertly navigated the park to position us for a second viewing of the same leopards. It was simply amazing. The safari continued to deliver unforgettable moments, including a family of elephants with an adorable baby tusker, an incredible variety of birdlife, and countless other wildlife encounters. Every moment of the drive was exciting, and Rohan’s ability to spot animals and share fascinating insights made the experience truly exceptional. The hotel itself was equally impressive. Our room was very comfortable, and the buffet meals were outstanding, offering an enormous selection of delicious Sri Lankan dishes alongside plenty of international options. Every meal was a feast. One of the most unique aspects of Cinnamon Wild Yala is that the wildlife doesn’t stop at the park gates. Seeing crocodiles and water buffalo roaming the hotel grounds made it feel as though nature was all around us while still enjoying the comfort and luxury of a beautiful resort. If you’re considering staying at Cinnamon Wild Yala, don’t hesitate to book the private morning safari—and if you’re lucky enough to have Rohan as your guide, you’re in for an extraordinary experience.

Negative: No gym or other recreation facilities No poolside service - have to walk to restaurant bar to order There was no difference between safari booked through hotel at $120 USD per person and safari booked externally for half the price. The hotel safari did not include a naturalist or guide as specified in their materials, instead saying it is “subject to availability” - assume one is not provided and specifically clarify this when booking is my advice.
