Positive: From the moment my family arrived by taxi to the villa, hosts Emanuela and Carlo received us with the warmest welcome, catering to any needs we might have during our six-day stay. Nestled on a hilltop away from the hustle-bustle of touristy Sorrento, guests have access to all creature comforts thanks to the hosts' attention to detail. One day, Emanuela took us to a grocery store in the town. This was a true highlight, as the ladies went shopping together to cook delicious meals with the freshest ingredients in the large kitchen filled with rustic charm. One thing I loved given my mobility challenges: there is a toilet on the ground floor, so I didn't have to climb the stairs all the time. The outdoor space is massive. Indeed, there isn't a bad spot to take in the Amalfi ocean views and the bucolic hills of Sorrento with a caffè or a glass of Prosecco! Whether it's an early-morning moment of peace at breakfast, or an evening gathering under twinkling lights, this is the Costa Amalfitana experience I have always dreamed of. On the terrace, there are lemon trees, and the hosts graciously allowed us to pick and use the lemons. The kitchen is fully equipped with gadgets and utensils-- everything needed to whip up a feast for a large family. The espresso machine in the kitchen yields very good coffee, and some capsules are provided for your stay. We purchased more when we went to the supermarket in town with Emanuela. The "Honesty Bar" in the villa offers various items for sale, including their own olive oil produced on the villa, ana other basics such as milk, wine, spirits, and pasta. When we arrived late at night to the villa, we were famished. Emanuela immediately presented us with a "menu" of nearby restaurants that offer delivery. The wifi worked well for us, especially in the indoor areas, although I often used it on the terrace.

Negative: I must note, as I am a passionate disability activist and am always advocating for accessibility: those of us with limited/reduced mobility should consider this property at our own discretion. All of the bedrooms are only accessible via stairs, and just arriving at the property is a steep climb. You can also arrange transportation in advance with owners Carlo and Emanuela, but the stairs will still be necessary for reaching all the rooms. There are also steps to go down to the small pool on another level of the terrace. Since I traveled with several members of my family who were able to assist me with my wheelchair and with climbing the steps myself, I was able to manage. But, I made the decision to stay in this villa being fully aware that it was not going to be easy for me. (Nor for any of my family members!)

Summary: A slice of rustic, breathtaking charm in the Amalfi coast makes me want to go back to Sorrento

Positive: Beautiful villa full of its own personality. Carlo and Emmanuala were exceptional hosts and were available to us for any and all queries we had. They helped us with recommendations of places to go and see. They also provided a taxi service to and from Sorrento. The cliff walk to the town is a must! Beautiful sea view from the villa. Each room was spotless. The bathroom on the top floor is fabulous!! The honesty bar was a great help to us as we arrived so late and also during our stay when we ran short of an item. Great idea! I would love to return there some day

Negative: The hill going down from the crossroads to the villa. Not really suitable for anyone who would struggle to walk but knowing Carlo I’m sure he would find a way to provide accessibility for everyone

Positive: Amazing hospitality. The hosts were born to receive guests, I have visited many places, but the are the best I have ever met. They are answering all the questions in minutes, you have all the information you need. Welcome cake, Easter cake, wonderful fresh vegetables, it is hard to list how much we have received from Emaunela and Carlo. The house has an outstanding location, with wonderful view. Inside nicely decorated, comfortable beds, good quality everywhere. Huge terrace with very nice furnitures.

Negative: Nothing to do with the house and the hosts, but it is really difficult to move around in the area by car, because of the constant high traffic. Count with longer travel times if you are there, whatever Google Maps says. :)

Positive: It was a fantastic property, and the owners were very nearby they offered to go into the centro for us as needed, or to shop. They were very friendly and helpful. The view was fantastic. We felt we could have stayed much longer. The "pool" is really a plunge pool for cooling off, not a real swimming pool. The spa was great and very nice after the amount of steps and climbing necessary in this city.

Negative: The upper floor room 1? the bathroom was on an even higher floor; it was clearly remodeled but it was a large tub with a high wall and a handheld shower device. There was no protection for the floor, which was extremely slippery when wet and difficult to negotiate by older tenants, somewhat dangerous.

Summary: A fantastic villa, incredible views; the home-made olive oil was stupendous, the kitchen easy to use

Positive: The villa is very spacious and has amazing views from the ground floor and also the top floor room. The pool, jacuzzi, garden, and property are really nice. The whole property is very spacious. You would not want to go anywhere when you are at the property as it has everything you need and a stunning view of vesuvius (top floor). Emanuela and Carlo are very friendly and helpful and provided us with a lot of information on food and attractions and were very responsive when we required something. I would definitely come back here again in the future.

Positive: The property had enough room and space to host our family of 7 in all regards, plenty of rooms and bathrooms with kitchen and amenities like small pool and jacuzzi to make everything perfect, and top it off with a spectacular view of the “golfo”!!

Negative: The only thing I would do different is that I wouldn’t go with a car due to the very narrow street and I’d take advantage of the shuttle service that the property owners have available, one more perk of staying at Villa Carolina.

Positive: The place was the perfect last stop on a two week trip to Italy. After Rome and Florence I cant tell you how great it felt to be perfectly perched up in Priora with breathtaking views of Vesuvius, the Bay of Napes, Sorrento city center, and Ischia. We were met by Emmanuela who walked us through the gorgeous villa, helped us with our bags and immediately felt like family. The villa is simply stunning. A perfect mix of old and new and we literally had the entire villa to ourselves. The sunsets from the terrace in the evening cant be described but Ill will tell you that the real gem here is Carlo and Emmanuela themselves. The truly get what it means to be a host and understand service that exceeds your expectations. Fresh lemons, oranges, and eggs in the mornings was always welcomed. We mentioned to Emmanuela once how expensive the taxies were and everyday she checked with us to see when we were going into town and Carlo took us and and picked us up on numerous occasions. The real example was after a LONG day on the boat exploring the coast Emmanuela recommended a very popular pizzeria in town....I called around 8 pm only to realized they did not accept cash....I HAD NO CASH AND % STARVING PEOPLE!!!! Carlo, who was slammed running the family restaurant on Marina Piccolo made my family a ton of pizzas, stopped at ANOTHER place and got us 5 tiramisus, delivered the pizzas at 9:30 and went back to work to finish the night....WHO DOES THAT! The communication from Emmanuela in the months up to the stay were fantastic. The place is the perfect mix of creature comforts and nature with landscaping in the grounds that is just beautiful. We will never stay anywhere else when we are in the area and felt like we now have not only a gorgeous home away from home but new Italian family and we were blessed to fall upon Emmanuela, Carlo, and Villa Carolina! GRAZIE MILLE!! A PRESTO

Positive: We thoroughly enjoyed the setting, the views, the fully equipped kitchen, the friendly and knowledgeable hosts, Emanuele and Carlo. Emanuele was always responsive to our texts and helped us with dinner reservations and transfers whenever needed. We had 2 nights where chefs came in and cooked dinner for us, using all fresh and local ingredients. The hosts brought us fresh oranges to make juice, fresh eggs, fresh vegetables. The layout of the 3 ensuite bedrooms and multiple terraces was perfect for our group of 5.

Negative: Barking dogs in the neighborhood were distracting.
