Tucked away down a country lane in the heart of Broadland, and enjoying glorious views across open fields, a range of handsome barns has been tastefully converted to create the attractive cluster of cottages we offer here. Some nestle under their traditional Norfolk thatch, all are very comfortably appointed and each enjoys its own individual patio. From the cottages, a gentle and tranquil rural landscape dotted with ancient churches, wind pumps and nature reserves, among a myriad other delights all under vast, arching East Anglian skies, offers a wealth of opportunity for enjoying walking, cycling and bird watching. Nearby How Hill nature reserve, with its marsh meadows, dykes, woodland and open water, is well worth exploring and the wider surrounding area supports a host of attractions. Riverside pubs and cafés are plentiful and a number of Broadland centres offer bike hire or canoe hire (possibly the most delightful way to discover the lovely reed lined waterways and their abundant wildlife) and visitors can also hire boats at nearby Potter Heigham, 4 miles, or take a pleasure cruise from bustling Wroxham – the capital of the Broads and home to the ‘world’s largest village store’ as well as the train station for the Bure Valley narrow gauge steam railway. Summary: Quiet location with a good sized bedroom and bathroom. Living area is well appointed but on the small side. With our 2 small dogs, it was ‘cosy.’ Some information was available but obviously during these times, it was limited. Instructions for all appliances apart from the oven but we figured it out. Good location for seeing many of the sights. Local pub - The Crown. We ordered a takeaway and it was ready to pick up really quickly. Tasted good too. Summary: great place for a quiet holiday cottage was very well appointed and clean. had some fantastic fishing in owners private lake. Even our dog Pepe was well taken with the place. the only slight criticism is that the two arm chairs are past their best and could do with replacing, but that would certainly not stop us returning as its a fantastic place to stay

Summary: The location of these cottages is very central for the Broads and only 17 miles from Cromer, 11 miles from Norwich and Yarmouth. There are several Pubs within 3 - 10 minutes drive and a nature reserve about 3 minutes drive or 30 minutes walk away. We enjoyed going there and sitting on the bank watching the cruisers etc going by. We found the cottage to be reasonably clean. The tops and equipment were all spotless but the cupboard and wardrobe doors were a little stained in places. The high dusting needed more attention as we found lots of corn spiders above head height. As mentioned by other guests the two armchairs were not exactly comfortable and we found the living/dining space to be a little on the small side. To summarise I would recommend this cottage as a great location for a couple who do not intend to spend too much time at the cottage. If you intend to spend your evenings there I would suggest considering one of the larger cottages at this location.
