Summary: Its a very good and pleasant hotel the rooms are very clean and tidy and well presented and i would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in ilkley

Summary: We changed our usual hotel in Ilkey due to the location of Craiglands between the moors and the town and the Best Western brand and as it stated dog friendly . The dog beds and the bottle of bubbly was a lovely touch , with a very comfy bed and great bathroom .However we felt 2nd class citizens just because of the dog . Signs on the towels asking us to use them for the use intended ! The room was long and dark and view of a pipe , mossy roof and brick wall . We had to leave the window open as the room was so hot and so was woken each morning by the kitchen extractor fan at 6-7 am . When we politely asked to move we were told there was no spaces in dog friendly rooms and they couldnt do anything about it. We would have checked out but the room was not refundable . When we saw an upgraded room it was like a different hotel . Meals/drinks had to be taken in a bar room and even when the big restaurant was closed for breakfasts we felt we were put in isolation in the bar on our own even thought the brasserie floor where everyone else was was hard and so easier to clean . No food available after 7.30 . It did feel like Marie Celeste and bars/reception had a intercom system if you needed a member of staff .Maybe no people in the bar due to the cost of drinks £16 a pint of beer and glass of wine . Unsure if we paid the same as other standard rooms but wasnt worth it ! Come on Best Western! Shame because the staff were lovely . I would add photos but this app wont let me .

Summary: Great stay with the most friendly courteous staff I have met in a hotel. Great warm welcome at reception and great service from the staff at dinner and breakfast. Room very clean and bed and pillows very comfortable. Breakfast very good with good choice. The hotel is old fashioned and has real character I would stay again and recommend

Summary: Staff were helpful. Location is good. Only problem was the planning of the room, there was hardly any space to move around the end of the bed to get to the wardrobe.

Summary: The hotel is in a lovely spot in the town of Ilkley, although it is up a hill, almost a mile from the town centre. We have stayed at Best Western Hotels many times over the years and found that this one didn't meet the usual standards. After parking our car in the car park we were faced with a set of very steep steps to get us up to the road outside the hotel and then more steps up. On checking in, we were ignored by the first member of staff we saw, but after a while another member of staff came to our rescue and mentioned that younger woman was learning the ropes. Fair enough as we all have to learn, but the young member of staff could have said someone would be with us soon instead of just leaving us standing there. Our room, number 234, was up in the loft to the second floor, then down steps then immediately up another steep set of steps with our suitcases! We are both pensioners and not in the first flush of youth! The room was fine, but somewhat warm and we had to leave the window open each night to breathe. At reception, there were hardly any tourist leaflets (we were told they had been removed) and a street plan of Otley, not Ilkley. The staff member managed to find me one but the reception did not have any for the 3 days we stayed, just the Otley town plan! Not useful for their residents! The next day we couldn't access our room. Probably due to the learner on the first day as the key had been wiped. All those steps up and down twice at the end of a busy day!
