Positive: Everything was very good. Room and bathroom are big, breakfast varied each day a bit, great coffee and staff was very attending and professional. Lakefront area with a huge batak house is just amazing.

Negative: I asked the receptionist for changing the room because mine was near a scooter parking. I got a room very close the road, which was noisier for sure. If you hate motorcycle roar as me, pay a little bit extra for cottages facing the lake.

Summary: Beautiful hotel in Tuk Tuk, unfortunately some cottages could be noisy.

Positive: Always beautiful place to stay. Look forward to coming back to Samosit

Negative: Wish they had more rooms available but i did mot book enough in advance. Had to book additional room in another hotel to squeeze family in for overnight stay in Samosir. 5 of us in total

Positive: Beautiful setting on the lake. The restaurant faces on to the garden and lake, and has everything you need in terms of food and drink, so if you’re in need of some relaxation you can while away some time there. The buildings are lovely and are built in the Batak style. Staff and owner are friendly and helpful. Bathroom was really lovely. The shower was good (best of the trip I think) and it was nice not to have a wet room! We rented bikes across the street and did our own “tour”, but if you wanted to the hotel arrange tours. The ferry stops at the hotel which is extremely helpful.

Negative: I understand that the property was built in 1994, and for this reason there aren’t enough plug sockets in the room. Make sure to bring a portable charger! The beds were comfy overall but the pillows were very lumpy and could do with an update. I knew there was no AC when I booked, and I do understand that it’s not as hot on Samosir as other parts of Sumatra, but it is difficult to sleep in this climate without AC.

Positive: Staff were generally very friendly and helpful - attended to all my queries with patience. Transport service from airport and to Medan City was excellent. Breakfast on different days had a variety of choices. The view of the lake was beautiful. Sleeping area was clean too.

Negative: Not sure if it was the timing of my stay that led to the lake water entering the premises and caused the area around to smell fishy so it didnt make me enjoy the pool facilities. Massage service was outsourced and there was little consistency between masseuses.

Positive: Nice comfortable room, comfortable bed, good shower. Seating area in front of the room. There are also rooms with balcony but we chose this one. There is a swimming pool and possibility to swim in the lake, which is nice because it can get warm. The ferry to and from parapat drops you if at the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast, Indonesian and international choices. Within walking distance from small restaurants.
