Positive: The jungle trek was great! We saw a lot of orangutans and other wildlife. The hotel staff made a nice effort to make sure my girlfriend had vegan food. The hotel staff was also super friendly and helpful!

Negative: The room was a bit too warm, the fan helped a bit.

Positive: The jungle trek was great, we saw many animals and had lots of fun with our guides Raja and Risky. The food provided was also very good. We spend two more days at the Discovery Villa, it's a nice place away from the city with communal hangout areas in the garden and cozy rooms. Don't miss the Badcaves!

Positive: We had an absolute blast spending our honeymoon here. We did the 5 day jungle trek and our guides Iwan and Bendy were amazing! We learned so much about the native plants and animals and even got to taste many different plants that are used in herbal medicine. Iwan and Bendy did an awesome job at tailoring our trek to our interests and skill levels. My husband and I have backpacked previously so they took us on very cool paths that that allowed us to truly experience the terrain. All the campsites we stayed at were awesome and the food was delicious (thanks Mawan)! Mawan went above and beyond and made our first campsite a "honeymoon version" by putting local flowers like hibiscus flowers around our sleeping mats and around our hut. Highly recommend this trip! The villa itself was awesome. We stayed one night before our trek and one night after our trek. The food here is delicious and the cat and dog are the best. Tyson and his team made us feel so welcomed and relaxed both before and after the trek. Tyson helped us get a car from the airport to the villa as well as a car to the bus station in Medan after our trek. The property itself is absolutely beautiful. Full of plants and color, they really keep it healthy and welcoming. We highly highly recommend Tyson and his team at Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa!!

Positive: The location was beautiful and peaceful, a little bit out of town so surrounded by greenery. The room was clean and bed very comfortable, and the food from the restaurant was excellent. And the people were wonderful, all so friendly and helpful - they really made us feel at home, as well as helping us organise our trek, airport pick up and onwards transport. Everything was fantastic.

Positive: Everything was perfect. Family and staff was incredible friendly and very helpful. The trekking was amazing. I saw a lot of animals in the jungle. The Bungalows are beautiful. The surrounding peaceful. You can hear the wild animals. I loved The place. I hope I can return one day. Thank you soooo much for everything. I wish you all the best. Conny

Positive: The location is perfect, just outside the village and on the edge of the jungle. The staff are fantastic, always available and willing to help with anything at all. My room was really comfortable and the meals I had were all delicious. I did a two trek into the jungle with guides Nurdin and Chan. They looked after me really well and the experience was very special. By the end of my short visit, I felt like a friend rather than a guest. I would love to go back to Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa in the future and have no hesitation in recommending it.

Negative: I was entirely happy with my stay. All my expectations were met.

Positive: We like to travel a lot and for sure this is one of the best places we have ever visited. Situated next to the river with the most beautiful views. All the persons working here made our stay very special, making music at night and playing cardgames with the kids. The food also was delicious. We did three different excursions (village tour, jungle trek for 2 days and bat cave) and everything was very well organized. Also from the moment you make the reservation, there is a very good contact with the host for all your questions. We definitely want to return one day.
