Positive: We were welcomed like family and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We loved the informal evenings listening to the staff sing and play guitar. The food was delicious and plentiful. My husband and son did an overnight jungle trek and my son said it was the best part of his holiday! My daughter and I did the day trek as I had a knee injury. Staff were so caring and patient and we saw lots of Orangutans. We absolutely loved it. When we left we were waved off like royalty and many hugs were exchanged. It was definitely the friendliest place we stayed in our months travel. It says a lot about a place when the staff go back to their place of work at night when they are not working to relax. I got the impression the staff are like one big family.

Positive: We had a fantastic time with Sumatra Orangutan Trek. Everything was well organized from start to finish. The jungle trek was unforgettable. We saw several orangutans, gibbons, and other monkeys. The guides were knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the environment, always respectful of the wildlife. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful, making us feel at home right away. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. A perfect way to experience the jungle in a responsible and memorable way.

Negative: The food at the restaurant is not great. We opted to eat in Bukit Lawang instead.

Positive: It’s a lovely place with a beautiful garden, and the food is excellent. The bed is comfortable, and the terrace offers a stunning view.

Negative: Unfortunately, there was a strong odor in the room, likely from the bathroom sink, which was not very clean and had a lot of bugs.

Positive: AMAZING stay in there. Everything was perfect : the trek, the guest house, the restaurant (so good food) and the staff. Cooking staff, jungle guides, manager, driver, they are all very nice, funny and always happy to help. The organisation is very good. GO GO GO ;)
