Positive: My stay at Cheeky Monkeys was brilliant. Sarah, Ade and the team were fantastic and helped me out when I needed a last minute trek into the jungle. My guide Rial was fantastic too. A really peaceful escape.

Positive: We loved our time at the cheeky monkey lodge snd can absolutely recommend this place- the whole team is super friendly and dedicated to making your stay perfect. Our two-day, one-night jungle trek was amazing, guided by Coco, who made sure we spotted so many monkeys and several orangutans and other wildlife like birds and insects. This experience was just incredible. Camping overnight in the heart of the jungle was thrilling, the beds were comfy and the food was so yummy (and there is a lot) and the dinner in the jungle was our best food we had so far in indonesia. If you're looking for adventure and great hospitality, this is the place to be! Thanks to the amazing team for making our time in the jungle unforgettable!

Positive: The small hotel is situated in a quiet area of Bukit Lawang, the main road is 10 min away by foot. The rooms have view of the garden and the jungle. There are hammocks and seating areas in the garden to relax. The best of the resort are the people, from the guides, to the cook and the manager. The food was delicious (we ate only the Indonesian food, I can not rate the other one). The organised tours in the jungle and the cultural tour were excellent. The pick up from the airport was smooth and at a fair price. The answers to the questions before our arrival were prompt. Thank you Cheeky Monkey for the great time in Bukit Lawang!

Positive: The team were brilliant, full of life and always willing to help out. Laundry facilities, restaurant. Beautiful garden and great tour of the Bat Cave and Local Village with Coco the guide.

Negative: The room I stayed in was effectively a shed at the end of the garden. It was very damp, and smelt bad. The closest toilet was a short walk away in the garden and it was terrible. The other rooms looked fine, I suppose it’s luck of the draw if you get assigned this one.

Positive: It was a great location. The best thing about our stay was for sure the people. Starting with the pickup we booked via them (easy fast nice and save) over the warm welcome of Sarah and Ade, the tracking with Alex and Sahrol (2 days trip -> one night in the Dschungel with a fantastic dinner and rafting tour back), the food and the taxi ride back to the airport, everything was done with with care, joy and enthusiasm. If you like to chat with Sahrol or Ade in the afternoon or evening both are happy to assist with your needs and answer all the questions about the island and specially the Dschungel, as they are locals and grew up in village.

Summary: Great place, we can highly recommend it. If we come back to Sumatra this will the place we choose again and again
