Summary: This is definitely not a 4-stars accommodation. Not sure why various booking websites, including Google, rank it 4-stars. There’s nothing luxurious. Food is average, nothing “wow” unlike what some reviewers wrote. I came to Shima Onsen for the Onsen, but this onsen, which is really small and without much of a view, was sorely disappointing.

Summary: Tha room was lovely, the onsen was wonderful, the kaiseki dinner was amazing as was the Japanese breakfast. The staff was very kind and vonsiderate. A perfect experience.

Summary: This is a lovely 'boutique hotel' in an absolutely beautiful part of the area north of Nakanojo near Lake Okushima. I wanted a truly Japanese place and I got it. Few, if any, 'foreigners' in the area. I was provided a bike and road around for 3 hours. The owner is a beautiful, kind lady and her and her staff treated me like a king. I had a room with a private hot spring pool - all I can say is "wow". If you want to see a place off the beaten track, I highly recommend this hotel.

Summary: Incredible stay, wish we could have stayed longer! Open air bath was lovely, sea salt scrub felt incredible, food was delicious, staff was friendly and spoke English! Definitely want to come back!

Summary: The property is very nice and calm. The staff was exceptionally nice and provided a good service. However our standard Japanese style room was a bit dark and the river was not visible due to trees.
