2 Bedroom Cottage in Filey

Sandy Shores Cottage is situated on Turnberry Drive, and is one of the cottages closest to the beach path, plus only a few minutes walk to the playground, tennis court, and village centre.
Enter through the front door into the spacious hallway with coat rack, plus downstairs cloakroom under the stairs.
To the right is the open-plan lounge / dining / kitchen space. There are two sofas, a log burner, dining table and 6 chairs. The kitchen is well-equipped with a large American style fridge-freezer. There's also a nespresso coffee machine.
French doors open onto the extended patio with table and chairs plus BBQ. The 2 parking spaces are also at the rear of the house, complete with EV charger (free charging for 5 hours every night), where there is also a large communal lawn with shrubs.
Upstairs, there are two self-contained bedroom suites. To the left is bedroom 1 with kingsize bed, full bathroom (bath with shower over), TV and storage, and a door onto the full-width balcony with sofa seating and sea view.
To the right is bedroom 2, with twin singles (2ft 6) which can be made up as a kingsize on request. TV, wardrobe, and there is a large shower ensuite too.
The log burner makes this cottage warm and cosy for breaks all year round.
We allow 2 dogs.

Summary: We recently had a weekend break at Sandy Shores. The cottage is in a perfect location, only seconds from the path to the beach and a couple of minutes from the facilities, close enough for convenience but far away enough not to be disturbed by everyone using them. The Balcony is a fabulous addition and we were fortunate enough to enjoy a stunning february day so took advantage and sat out enjoying the view with a cup of tea. We’ve stayed at The Bay a number of times over the past 6 years at various cottages and this was our first time at Sandy Shores and definitely not the last! The cottage was immaculate and well cared for, definitely our favourite by some distance.

Summary: We had a wonderful few days at Sandy Shores. The house is clean, comfortable and warm, which was really welcome after a day out exploring the area. Equipped with everything we needed for a lovely stay. The site is absolutely spotless and beach is just a few minutes walk away from the property. What more could you want? We will definitely be back.

Summary: We had a lovely stay in Sandy Shores. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The site was peaceful and the walk to the nearby beach was pleasant. On site, we enjoyed use of the pool and gym, the pub/restaurant and the kids enjoyed the park and amusements. The onsite shop was handy although we did get a supermarket delivery on arrival. Ideal place for families or couples and although we didn't bring a dog, the site and area were very dog friendly. The location is great for day trips and we enjoyed exploring Filey, Scarborough, York, Whitby and Robin Hoods bay as well as a fun trip to Flamingo land. Recommend for a great holiday.

Summary: Second time visiting Sandy Shores and good to know you can trust the accommodation to be everything you need for a stress free break. Weather was poor so we enjoyed the Filey Bay distillery visit and the pie pub. Had a nice meal in the Jon Paul restaurant on site and the on site swimming pool was also handy! When the weather cleared we enjoyed Sewerby Park and Bempton Cliffs.

Summary: We had a great stay in this well maintained, clean house in an excellent location. We are a couple with a child and a dog, and the house was a good size for us, with plenty of space. We had a problem which was sorted quickly over text, Paula was very accessible and provided excellent customer service. We hope to return soon.

Summary: The cottage was spacious, clean, close to the beach, and had all necessary utilities and equipment. It has been the first time we had been to the beach in Filey, wanted to check out the area. If you like the location and walking your dog on the beach or meeting other dog owners in the pub on site then I can definitely recommend this cottage as the place to stay. We encountered one minor issue with the heating (late autumn stay and arrived on a cold day) - that had been sorted out very promptly by the owner, thank you.

Summary: A real home from home that had everything we needed. The balcony was a lovely place to sit and relax and the cottage was in a good spot ideal for the beach with its own parking. We had a lovely stay and will definitely book again.
