Positive: We stayed at many riads over the course of our trip but this was everybody's favorite! The staff was extremely kind and welcoming, the dinner and breakfast served were some of the best of the trip, and our room was great. The location is also a major plus- it is very close to the inner medina (maybe a few minutes walk) which makes it a good starting point without being so deep into the city that it is easy to get lost.

Positive: AMAZING RIAD . I booked Riad Fes La Mama as a solo female traveller, due to many good reviews from previous guests. It really did feel like home from home ! 100% From the moment I arrived I felt safe, was met from the taxi, escorted safely to the riad and shown my beautiful room. I enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal even though I arrived quite late. Breakfast is served on the beautiful terrace and the uper terrace is fantastic for a panoramic view of Fes whilst eating your Breakfast in the sunshine.The food is incredible, credit to the gorgeous Fatima :) It’s been restored by the owners with love and commitment into a wonderful Riad with a welcoming, happy and restful vibe. My holiday was to rest my soul and discover Fes and surrounding areas. I was so comfortable here I even extended my stay to visit the desert and Chefchaouen which really made my trip complete! I moved to another gorgeous cosy room on my return from the desert to enjoy the remainder of my stay. I will be going home with a very happy heart. Thank you to all the incredible staff here. Friends for life ! I will definitely return with my girl friends as it’s a quiet oasis but close enough to the medina to explore fes. Great price for a first class experience. Positive: Youssef and his staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout our short stay. Communication was excellent from the moment we booked, with Youssef contacting us directly and helping us arrange a transfer from the airport directly to the Riad. The Riad itself had been refurbished very recently, but felt very authentic with lots of attention to detail. The food was excellent and the rooftop terrace was a really great place to relax after a long day traveling. Highly recommend.

Positive: This is a great place at ideal location to explore the Medina. Youssef and co are so nice and helpful. From ground floor to rooms and roof top, all is stylishly decorated and breaths a great atmosphere. Clean comfortable room, good bed, beautiful bathroom, hot shower, quiet at night, nice view and breakfast at roof top, … what more do you want? I am so happy I easily found this place while googling before entering Fez - which is very stressful since there are so many options. Thanks Youssef and team for the hard work in creating this hidden gem.

Positive: Riad Fez la Mama is such a fabulous place! The staff team are the heart of the Riad. Youssef, the owner, is very experienced, and focused on helping guests have the best time. Ask him for anything - he will help to arrange it. Walid is a joy, he's cheerful and super helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. Khatija and Fatima are the best cooks in Fez! Well, it seems that way to me. My first meal of tagine, salads etc was the best I had during my stay in Fez. If you are very lucky, you might get one of their melt-in-the-mouth biscuits, hot out of the oven. Rooms are traditional, clean, comfortable...all different styles. Water pressure is great in the showers! WiFi was fine for work and streaming. The location could not be better. All the main attractions in the medina are nearby with the exception of the blue gate (bab boujloud) as this is on its own at the other end of the medina. A good guide (get a reputable one!) can take you round everything nearby and then show you talaa kebira, the alley leading directly through the medina to the blue gate at other end. I loved walking up and down, and round the medina, 'chatting' to some of the stall holders - more smiles and waves than conversation as I'm not much of an Arabic speaker :-) I didnt have any trouble with hustlers in the medina, but keep your wits about you, learn the word for 'no' ....and definitely don't accept directions from random people as they will charge you! There are a selection of cafes and restaurants nearby, some more local and traditional, some more for tourists. There's a vibrant mix of local people shopping, eating and generally hanging out in the evening. And lastly, you can hear a pin drop at night. It is so quiet with a great view over the medina from the roof.

Positive: Stayed 2 nights with my partner in Youssef’s Riad, and the whole experience was amazing! Arrived late at night with a car, and Youssef was super kind to come and carry our bags as well as take me to the closest parking (only 10’ walk)! He then prepared a delicious dinner for us (despite being almost midnight). In the mornings we had fresh orange juice together with a delicious breakfast. We stayed in much more expensive Riads across Morocco and this was not provided! Our room was very clean and very traditional. One can feel that this is not -yet another Riad- but a place where the owner has put his heart in. Above all, the best was the hospitality and kindness from every member of the staff who treated us like friends, made us feel very safe and comfortable and were 24/7 reachable for any question/request, be it touristic or anything else! Thank you for everything!!
