Positive: I loved Riad Le Calife so much I didn’t bother leaving the property, just enjoyed relaxation on their rooftop terrace, enjoying mint tea and incredible views. The Riad itself, incredible beauty and detail to the premises, such class and style, loved The Bar room, enjoyed a nice breakfast each morning, the courtyard enjoys a nice aroma of orange blossom with the trees, I had dinner here as well and it was one of my best meals, and not over portioned as the three course dinner. The hosts, Yasmine and Alex are just wonderful. Great communication, helpful assistance to your transportation or other needs, warm and inviting. My favourite Riad of all my seats during my trip to Morocco, and all of them were wonderful so that’s saying something.

Positive: This is an exceptional Riad in every possible way. Beautiful palacial like rooms with the Riad common areas themselves being a feature of the stay - laced with artefacts and talking pieces. The staff were exceptional throughout our stay, so kind and helpful, and we had an incredible welcome from Alex who was passionate about ensuring we enjoyed our time in Fes. Great breakfast too. This Riad was the highlight of our time in Fes - this is the only place we would stay next time in Fes!

Positive: Alex and Yasmine super great and interesting host! Alex is an extremely funny and energetic person. Muhammad super nice and helpful. We loved our room rubie and enjoyed our stay. The tiny details since we enter the property, all the way to the room, really detailed decorations and small things that actually make us heart warmed. It’s def getaway and peaceful place to go compare to the busy Medina of fes.

Positive: From the moment we stepped into Riad Le Calife, it felt like walking into a time machine. The thick walls of this ancient building seem to whisper thousands of stories from the people who passed through Fez over the centuries – Muslims, Jews, French, Christians – all somehow still present in the atmosphere of the house. Then, as you move deeper inside, you’re suddenly in the early 20th century: elegant Art Deco pieces blending effortlessly with Islamic ornaments and artwork. Old radios and a 1950s piano stand like small, nostalgic time capsules – quiet reminders of another era. It’s exactly in this interplay between ancient, vintage, and modern that the true charm of this boutique riad lies. Yasmine & Alex, the owners, carefully arranged every detail in the Riad, from the paintings on the walls to the carefully chosen ornaments in each corner. More than once, we caught ourselves thinking, 'How did they even think of this?' They genuinely enjoyed our enjoyment, making us feel special at every single moment. Their generous spirit of hospitality clearly “infected” their staff (Fatima, Said, Mohamed), as well: always present, always kind, but never intrusive. Another thing we loved: guests actually looked at each other, smiled, and started conversations – something surprisingly rare these days. Perhaps it’s the atmosphere of the house, or maybe it’s the (un)intentionally slightly weaker Wi-Fi signal that nudges you to be present rather than always online. Either way, it works. Our stay at Riad Le Calife was a unique journey into the past while still enjoying all the comforts of modern life. It was the perfect getaway before getting immersed in the 9,000 walkways of the mysterious medina of Fez. We also had the pleasure of getting to know the husband and wife owners who tastefully renovated the 400+ year old building to its picturesque state and treat their guests like family.
