Positive: I loved everything about this newly opened hotel. It blends historic architecture with calm, contemporary interiors: warm wood, clever lighting, and a serene private courtyard that feels cinematic at dusk. My room was spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully equipped—quality mattress and pillows, blackout curtains, quiet AC, a strong hot shower, and a proper desk with USB/power points. Wi-Fi was reliable for video calls. As a solo female traveler I felt very safe, and the property is peaceful at night. Each morning you can choose a Chinese set or a Western set for breakfast. Both are carefully prepared and beautifully presented—think local bites and congee for the Chinese set, or eggs, bread/pastry, yogurt, and fruit for the Western set, also have good coffee/tea. The team helped with directions from the city gate, offered great restaurant tips, and communicated easily in English. Being inside the ancient city means you can walk everywhere, then retreat to a quiet sanctuary. I’d happily return and recommend it to friends.

Rooms are quiet and minimalist with great water pressure, reliable fast Wi-Fi, plenty of bedside outlets, and strong AC/heat. The bed and linens meet Western comfort standards. Breakfast can be chosen Chinese or Western—I tried both during my stay and each was fresh, well-presented, and generous (fresh juice and good coffee/tea included). Staff were proactive and friendly, arranged luggage pickup from the city gate, and communicated smoothly in English. The location is perfect for walking the lanes yet peaceful once inside the courtyard. Tips for Western travelers: cars can’t enter the old town, so message the hotel for pickup; wear comfortable shoes; and leave time to simply enjoy the courtyard—part heritage museum, part modern gallery. A flawless stay.
