Positive: Room was spacious and comfortable, private terrace bath wonderful. Food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful. Views from hotel were splendid.

Positive: Beautiful onsen overlooking the stars, the coin facilities for free drinks at the bar, everything was just perfect. The meals (breakfast) was exquisite and the staff very friendly and always willing to help.

Positive: We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Tsubakino in Yudanaka. The location is convenient, only a few minutes from the station, with free parking for guests arriving by car. Our room was very spacious and included a private onsen bath filled with natural hot spring water. The window could be opened, creating a pleasant outdoor feel. The western-style bed was very comfortable, and the room had thoughtful touches like an Nespresso machine, tea set, and complimentary sweets. Dinner and breakfast were both outstanding. The kaiseki dinner was multi-course, beautifully presented, and made with high-quality ingredients. Breakfast was traditional Japanese-style, with rice, miso soup, pickles, salad, and a warm dish served in a hot pot—savory rather than Western. Guests dine in private rooms, adding to the authentic atmosphere. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Although their English was limited, they used small cards with pictures to explain Ingredients, which was very thoughtful. There are several onsen options: public baths for men and women, a rooftop private onsen that can be reserved for 75 minutes, and some rooms with private baths. The public onsen is included for all guests. The natural hot spring water is of excellent quality, perfect for a relaxing soak.

Negative: Some areas of the building may be a little dated, but this does not affect the overall experience. A genuinely authentic Japanese onsen hotel with exceptional food, service, and atmosphere.

Positive: The traditional feel and staff were awesome. They attended to our needs and accommodated our lack of local language well. It is definitely an experience not to be missed. The food was amazing esp. if you like fish and enjoy other cuisine 😀.
