Negative: I understand that buildings in Amsterdam are old, but the hotel should improve basic safety. The staircase is extremely steep and one of the handrails was broken, which is unsafe for guests. I also booked a double room and paid extra for it, but the two single beds kept separating and there was no way to keep them together, which was very uncomfortable for a couple.

Positive: The location is pretty good, in front of the Artis zoo and close to the university. There's a tram station in front of the hotel, that takes you to the centraal station and Dam square in 10 minutes. You can walk to another tram station near the University in 8 minutes if you'd like to go to Museumplein. The doors are opened by a website, so there are no physical keys. We didn't see anyone at the reception, but we got fresh towels left in the room everyday. There was a capsule coffee machine in the room and an automatic coffee machine in the common area, which also had a microwave. The room had a high ceiling.

Negative: Rooms were a bit tight. Door lock didn't work in our room. We had a balcony, which had a deadlock but it kept falling. Yet we didn't have any problems. The shower only has a curtain, and the water takes a really long time to adjust. There was no toilet brush and no mini fridge in the room. Not a deal breaker. The stairs were narrow and steep, so it's hard to move with suitcases. There is no do not disturb sign to hang on the door. Rooms no. 10-11-12-13 doesn't have signs showing where they are, so it was a bit hard to find when we first got there. We didn't see anyone working, so it was a completely remote controlled place, which felt odd, but there are Ring cameras and bells around, so I'm sure we would be able to find someone if we needed. The internet was a bit slow, but still works ok.

Positive: The location is great, the neighbourhood is nice and the room itself was clean.

Negative: The first difficulty was finding our room in the hotel. The reception door should have more room numbers on it, as that door is used for accessing more rooms than just 14-17. We managed to reach someone on WhatsApp and to find our room, in the end. Luckily we arrived in the afternoon, not late at night. The mattress was soft and the pillows big, but some people might like this.

Positive: Just near the station. Too Clean property Cozy room and the toilet was good Good value for money

Negative: I think they should not provide digital key as some people might not be digitally good enough to understand. For me it was okay.

Negative: Would have been much nicer if we had a hot water electric kettle than a coffee machine.
