Positive: Excellent location and easy to get to and from Centraal Station. Very close proximity to ARTIS and Hortus botanical gardens. It's easy to get around anywhere in Amsterdam from here. It felt very safe to be here and it's quiet in the evenings. Prepare for climbing steep staircases to get to your room, a true Dutch building experience. Staff is friendly too. It was easy to check in and check out.

Negative: We stayed at the top level during mid-June. It gets really hot up there in the evenings. There is one shared toilet room and one shower room. Prepare for shared facilities as you will need to wait for your turn to use them. These comments are not complaints. I thought it would be helpful to let future guests have an awareness. With historic buildings, what you get should be expected. This hotel was great overall.

Positive: The hotel is located in the nice neighbourhood with the Botanical garden nearby. The room was cosy and quiet. The hotel is in the old building which adds to the atmosphere.

Negative: - Be aware that there are only shared toilets at the hotel located at each floor. I think for this amount of money it is not really worth it not to have a private bathroom. - You can hear other tenants.

Positive: We could check in a little earlier than stated which was nice so we could drop our bag. Room were simple, clean and light all be it basic, but that was to be expected for the price. Location can't be beat, and it was a quiet street for a good nights rest.

Negative: The toilets were in the hall which we knew, but they were so small! Not very comfortable for taller people.
