Positive: Finding a home stay in the mountains is hard to come by. This family actually lives here year round and makes the best of the land -- produces honey, has chickens, a garden etc. The room is very simple. No a/c, no heat, just a bed and a bedside table. By the second night I really looked forward to coming home to my simple room with no flashing lights from the a/c, no electronics, no TV. Just a comfortable bed to sleep in and cool weather (Sept is chilly). The family was very accomodating, helpful and honest. I had been in Albania for three weeks eating tomatoes and cucumbers every day, and I couldn't eat another tomato. They helped me add some of my own vegetables to my breakfast and overall were very nice (they really don't have access to most fruits and vegetables, so if you want to bring a present, almost anything is good!). The adult children speak English-- the daughter works at a nearby hotel; one of the sons lived in England. They can give you advice. The older generation -- even though we didn't speak the same language--struck me as truly nice, humble people who do not want to have conflicts with their guests. They seem grateful to have the extra financial support and are happy to accomodate you.

Negative: I just want to say that this isn't a hotel meant to have the finest of everything. It's someone's house and it's a more authentic experience. This isn't negative, but it's true.

Positive: Hosts were friendly and welcoming. Dinner was very tasty - the soup was excellent. View was nice. Location was good for hiking Rosni Peak.

Negative: The bathroom in our room had a bad smell. Probably because of the septic system. We could not smell it in the room with the bathroom door closed. Everything was clean.

Positive: Marcel and his family were absolutely wonderful. The food was some of the best I’ve had in Albania. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. They were incredibly helpful, especially guiding me through the logistics for the Valbonë to Theth hike, which I had planned for the next morning. And the view from the terrace? Unbelievable! Surrounded by stunning mountains, it was incredibly serene. I genuinely regret not booking a longer stay. I’ll absolutely be coming back – next time for more than just one night. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality

Positive: It is a lovely little place. Very rustic but very clean and comfortable, with an amazing view over the mountains and lots of chickens running around. The owners were lovely- the children speak English - and dinner was delicious. I was leaving early so they made me a packed breakfast at no extra cost.

The room was comfortable and the breakfast was nice. They can provide dinner and a packed lunch for you too. Marcel was a great host and spoke excellent English

Positive: We had a lovely time at guesthouse mountain, it felt more like a homestay and it was unbelievably charming. It was possible to have food there apart from the breakfast and they were very accommodating to our needs and we were given tips regarding hikes.
