Positive: Lovely bungalows on top of the water! The surroundings are amazing, from the wharf you can see a broad variety of fish (even baby sharks and dungeon!). We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, sound of the jungle, and enjoyed our hammock and the relaxing area with bean bags. Staff is very friendly, food is tasty. Bathroom is very basic, during daytime there is no electricity which wasn’t a problem for us. Overall great stay and island life experience!

Positive: Great staff, also at Gibran dive centre. It's lovely secluded area. With plenty of of beach to walk along, especially at low tide. Lots of baby blacktip sharks and fish action underneath the huts over the water. Great value for money.

Positive: Comfortable. Sound of waves all day. I saw many fishes including Blackchip sharks twice in 4 days of my stay. I didn’t do diving for 25 years since my daughter was born and refreshment diving with the Dive Master Mr. Ayub reminded me of how to dive with a fond landscape of the underwater. The day trip to Piaynemo was unforgettable. So beautiful scenery and snorkeling experiences. All staff and children around community were friendly and kind. We would like to thank you Gibran.

Positive: Gibran is situated on a stunning stretch of white sandy beach on the south side of Kri. The owner speaks fluent English and is very responsive with all communications. The homestay is clean and well managed with friendly staff. Meals were plentiful with good variety, however if a dive trip leaves early in the morning, then you may need to request additional food be prepared. They have 4 bungalows on the beach with private bath and 5 cabins over water, accessed via a timber jetty. The cabins all had larger verandas with hammock and chairs – great space to lounge around. Power is only from 6pm til midnight. We got placed in the cabin next to the dive centre / meals area which was a bit noisy as the dive centre operation starts very early and ends late. This homestay had a good vibe at meals times with people sharing lively travel and diving anecdotes – good place to swap travel tips. They sell icy cold Bintangs for those who swill ale. The house reef under the jetty 250m down the beach from Gibran is really good, I would recommend doing snorkelling here at higher tide as you can enter the water from the beach and float over the coral reefs. Recommend you take the walk up the jungle path to the Look Out Point where you get a commanding view of Kri and Mansuar. Get directions at Gibran where this trail starts. The first stretch of this jungle path is a steep scramble, so use decent footwear. Gibran arrange an excellent morning or afternoon snorkelling trips (tide depending) at 3 locations around Kri. This trip is seriously fantastic as the snorkelling is totally amazing at every spot. They can arrange trips across the bay to Yenbuba Village which is worth a look. You can snorkel across to Yenbuba from the point on Kri, interesting reefs under the very long Yenbuba Jetty. I do not dive, so cannot evaluate their dive centre quality, however many people staying there took dive trips and returned with glowing reports. Gibran is highly recommended.
