Positive: Located conveniently close to Victoria Street with all the shops and restaurants. Awesome courtyard with braai facilities and comfortable seating. Also enjoyed indoor fireplace on cold nights

Negative: No lie in on Sunday because of early morning church bells across the road (but didn't spoil overall stay)

The cottage is even more beautiful than the photos online and was absolutely immaculate on arrival. Every detail of the décor has clearly been thoughtfully curated, creating a warm, elegant, and luxurious space that feels both stylish and inviting. The garden is equally charming — beautifully maintained and the perfect setting to relax and unwind. It’s clear that a great deal of care and love has gone into creating such a special place. We truly couldn’t fault a single thing and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Stanford itself is such a gem, and Dove Cottage made the experience even more memorable.

Positive: It’s a beautiful cottage. Sparkling clean. Care and thought has obviously been put in to it. Good quality comfy bedding. Wood and firefighters for a real fire to beat the chilly evening (it was such a pleasure to have a night in here), a well equipped kitchen and a welcome bottle of wine, tea, coffee, milk were much appreciated. They’d even left a few scoops of washing powder. This was a perfect break - thank you.

Negative: Shower was a bit tired - but this didn’t detract at all. It would have been nice to have a washing machine.

Summary: Loved this wonderful cottage. A perfect stay.
