• Please note that, as with most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.
• Pet Policy: Up to 2 pets allowed with a $40/day pet fee (maximum $250 per stay).
• Parking Policy: Driveway access only; trailers and RVs cannot be accommodated due to narrow access.
• Fire Policy: No outdoor fires permitted at any Catamount properties per HOA bylaws. ATVs may only be ridden on the road.
• Winter Access: 4WD/AWD vehicle with snow tires required for stays November 1 – May 1.
A deposit of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days before the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

Summary: Everything you need and clean and location - beyond stellar. When we got to property we didn’t have correct check in information but I called the number provided and in the first ring they answered and we were in! Which is rare when those types of things happen so thank you!!I did like the space the only thing to add was it is an odd layout. And the lower bathroom toilet didn’t work the entire time we were there. But we were out everyday exploring so not a huge deal! Plus upstairs toilet was fine! I do think the staircase should be included in details - able and fit and still nervous about them since they fold up and down and the top handrails don’t connect so at the highest point there is a 2’ gap. Lastly the only shower in the place is an amazing view and also a jacuzzi bathtub but the curb height to get into even take a shower … even my sister at 5’7” could not comfortably step in the tub to shower. So myself at 5’2” we would joke I was about to go hurdling to get in. Again, for my adventure it was fine but a little different than anticipated overall.

It's just a beautiful, easy, one-hour drive. The view is absolutely stunning with sunrises and sunsets looking out towards the Sneffels Range. And after a long day on the slopes, the hot tub was perfect. My morning coffee on the deck while I contemplated how lucky I am... What an amazing reset. The cabin itself is very nice, with a cool cantilevered stairs that gives the living area quite a bit more room. As always with VRC, it was super clean and had everything we needed. Thanks for being a brand I can trust.

We saw deer every day and watched the chipmunks darting around the house. We enjoyed the privacy and peace/quiet of this fairly secluded cabin. We were centrally located to get to Ouray, Teeluride and the Black Canyon. The property management company was very responsive when needed. Would definitely stay here again if we visit again.

Summary: Our stay was incredible. The location and views for this small, functional, and cute cabin was perfect! In fact, there are views from every room - It was easy to just stop and take 15 minutes at any time throughout the day to just watch the mountains change with the light and weather. The cabin was in great shape - no major complaints at all! Functional and cozy, just what we wanted! The bedroom was large enough and well provisioned, but this is still an older cabin so keep that in mind. But that is what we loved and wanted! Everything we wanted to make meals and hang out were there. We'll likely be coming back when it's time to get away to the San Juans and Colorado again!

Summary: The setting and views from this cabin are spectacular! Great mattresses and bedding. But unfortunately there are a lot of little issues that took away from our experience, especially for the price. The cabin has an AWFUL smell, which the owners claim is from old wood. Our guess is mildew or a dead animal under the floor boards.Their dishwasher didn’t work, and they knew it considering there was an unused tablet in it already. There’s only 3 coffee cups and most of their wine glasses were filthy or cracked and not usable. We were very disappointed, and contacting them during our stay did nothing.

Reviewer Comments: I stayed here about six years ago and am sad to report that it's gone downhill since. The location is still beautiful and the cabin is very well-stocked with pantry/bathroom items and games, but it could also use some TLC. The biggest disappointment was the hot tub - when I opened it the first night it was full of debris, so I called the property management company. The lady who answered was very friendly and apologetic and said she would send out the maintenance person first thing next morning. After I called, my partner pulled the filter out of the hot tub and it looked like something out of a horror film (growing algae and who knows what else), so we left it out for the maintenance person's attention. We left to go into town at noon the next day but still hadn't seen anyone. When we returned, some (not all) of the debris was gone and the same filter had been rinsed and placed back into the hot tub. I appreciated the effort and I know there probably wasn't another filter readily available, but neither of us felt comfortable soaking no matter how many chemicals had been put in the water given the state of the filter, so half the reason for booking the property was a loss as we never got to use the hot tub. My dog found a dead mouse under the master bed the second day we were there, there were quite a few cobwebs, we had to rewash several of the dishes, and the deck railing definitely needs some attention (don't lean on it). Also, it's worth noting that during the day there was also a fair amount of construction noise from down the road, so sitting on the deck wasn't really the peaceful experience I'd hoped for either. So while this is a beautiful location, my honest recommendation is to pass on this one for the time being. It was not even close to being worth the insane amount we paid for four nights with all the fees. And if you do go and want to use the hot tub... do your due diligence before getting in.
