Positive: The staff was consistently polite, helpful, and friendly. I also noticed that the service was excellent even without tipping. One bartender, in particular, was very friendly and attentive, and the service was just as good as you'd get with a tip. This made me feel like everyone was treated equally. The food was of excellent quality and variety. The buffet portions were replenished constantly, so there was never a shortage of anything. There was a wide selection of fresh fruits and juices, which I really enjoyed. The hotel has a separate restaurant dedicated to burgers, which as an American, I appreciated. The burgers were well-made, but I would have preferred a buffet option since my family doesn't eat burgers, and I would have had to eat there alone. Still, this wasn't a big issue. The cleanliness of the hotel was perfect. Our room was cleaned twice a day, and all the common areas were spotless. Service at the pool was great, with waiters regularly coming by to ask if we needed a drink. Like most resorts, it's important to book your dinner reservations early, as they fill up quickly. We were unable to get a spot at the Japanese restaurant, but this is to be expected, as those restaurants usually have limited seating.

Negative: The only real negative was the persistent sales pitches for the hotel's timeshare program. I understand this is part of their job, but it felt misleading. They approach you as if they are simply hotel staff offering a tour, but it's a thinly veiled attempt to get you to attend a sales presentation. I didn't go, but the saleswoman was insistent, even approaching us early the next morning. It would be much more transparent if they simply introduced themselves as timeshare salespeople during check-in and asked if we would be interested in a presentation the next day. This lack of transparency felt deceptive.

Positive: Our stay at Catalonia Grand Costa Resort was wonderful. Firstly, the place is impeccably clean, and the atmosphere is beautiful and lively with many parties. The restaurants are diverse, offering delicious cuisine, not just Mexican, but a variety of delightful dishes. The steak was particularly outstanding. The pools and other areas are absolutely splendid, and the best part is the friendly staff and their excellent service. I will definitely return whenever I get the chance with my family.
