Positive: The property is cosy and friendly without being fussy. The kitchen is the most well equipped I have ever had the pleasure of in a holiday home. The garden is secure and perfect for dogs to play in - the sitting room floor tiled perfect for cleaning any wet paw prints. Extensive information and leaflets relating to the workings of the cottage and the surrounding area.

Summary: We felt the owners cared about their guests and we will return next year

Positive: Lovely place - better than expected from the photos. Great to be able to walk from the house into countryside - in particular Ewyas Harold common and to see the old Dore Abbey. Peaceful area and easy to drive to Black Mountains and Abergavenny. So many OS maps in the house. Well equipped kitchen, lovely welcome box with snacks and milk, nice place to sit outside, good to have a dining table. Big clean fridge and freezer. We would love to return.

Negative: Sofa not comfortable. Had some issues getting in as I couldn’t find an email with the key code and mobile data connection was not good outside. Recommend checking you have an email with key code and screenshotting it before you travel there.

Summary: Lovely, peaceful place with good facilities.

Positive: Bear Cottage was a lovely place to stay. It has a very home-from-home atmosphere, with a well-equipped kitchen and lots of books and games. We really appreciated the maps of the local area which we could use on hikes. Its location is wonderfully peaceful.

Positive: The garden. Peace and quiet of the surroundings. In general, cottage was well equipped, particularly with info and means of entertainment i.e. where to go, what to do, games and a fantastic collection of books. Lots of space for everything (for 2).

Negative: Living room suite was a little "tired" and uncomfortable. TV could do with upgrading and there were a few items the kitchen would benefit from having, i.e., oven gloves and specific items to cook (steam) food (veg) in the microwave.
