Positive: I already stayed here once in March 2026 with my father on a walking trip in the Black Mountains. Because it was excellent in many respects, I stayed here again with my partner, and it served as a base for more cultural trips to Hay-on-Wye, Abbey Dore, and Hereford Cathedral, among others. It's a great house - comfortable, pleasant, and has everything you need. Clearly, the house has been lived in by owner and has been cared for a lot. The village of Ewyas Harold is a great base for trips across Herefordshire and neighbouring Wales.

Positive: Spotlessly clean and comfortable with so many thoughtful touches that made for a very relaxing stay! Great location with easy access to lovely places to visit - we visited Ross, Hereford and Abergavenny- all lovely! We would highly recommend and are already planning our return!

Positive: The location was perfect, quiet, peaceful and pretty and with the bonus of 1 minure walk to the centre of the village of Ewyas Harold, with 2 local pubs serving excellent food and local beers, a fish and chip shop, butchers and a local store. The location is central for walks in the hills and countryside and a 20 minute drive into the city of Hereford. The property is a great size with a gated, ample sized carparking area, the house has three double bedrooms with extremely comfortable double beds, lots of cupboard space and dressing areas. The Lounge and dining area is very comfortable and the kitchen a good size with every cooking utensil and crockery you need. Hillside is welcoming, a cozy tranquil home from home, the thoughtful touches of milk, bread and other little essentials were a bonus and a lovely touch from a friendly host, who is contactable and helps with your needs, thanks Helen 😊. Directions, Check in and Instructions provided on all appliances were excellent. . The garden, particularly the back overlooks fields and part of the village including the church steeple ( very pretty)with a seating area for all of the family, beautiful for warm evenings and al fresco dining. It is also a dog safe garden. I highly recommend staying here and would definitely return if staying in this beautiful village again.

Positive: The pictures don’t quite do this place justice - it was absolutely beautiful and the hosts were very accommodating. The property was beautifully furnished, well equipped and so much space. The kitchen was great for cooking and the living room perfect for socialising. But the garden was the cherry on top! We eat all our meals outside, which lead to a very relaxing few days. The village is also so peaceful and in a convenient place for us to get the Hay-on-Wye. We took advantage of the local pub and had a really good meal out.

Positive: We, as 2 people, used this 3-bedroom house as a comfortable and convenient base to do walks up in the Black Mountains. From the house, it's a short 20 minute drive to park somewhere to do these kinds of walks. The house itself is excellent - you can't really get much better for the price, I'd say. Spacious and comfy rooms. 2 toilets. Decent bathroom and shower. Living room is pleasant and light. Tastefully decorated. But biggest thing is all the provisions. Most places you go to and everything is locked away in a cupboard. Here, you have access to all kinds of things - should you need them (towels, toilet rolls, bags, etc etc). And I thought the provision of water, milk, jams, coffee, tea, and even a loaf of bread - was a nice touch. Private parking is provided on the driveway outside the house. We didn't use the table in the back garden much - but I imagine it's really nice in the summer. The local village is nice. The house is 100 metres from a fish and chip shop, and 2 pubs, 1 of which seemed very vibrant. There is a village shop - well provisioned. Check out is not too early (11 - very reasonable), and check in times can be negotiated a little bit. Host (based on text contact through booking.com) is easy to contact and friendly.

Negative: There was nothing I thought was bad, which is unusual to have absolutely nothing wrong.

Summary: Comfortable, well provisioned, and in a handy location in the village.
