Peace, tranquillity with a feeling of isolation awaits you at Barramunga Rainforest Retreat.
Nestled in the heart of the magnificent Great Otway National Park this rainforest retreat set on 25 acres of magnificent secluded forest offers you the perfect getaway with lots or little to do. Now with INTERNET & NETFLIX for your enjoyment.
Sleeping 6, this fully self-contained retreat house is one hour & 10mins from Geelong, 30 minutes from the Great Ocean Roads popular Apollo Bay beaches and restaurants and 10 minutes from Australia’s largest mountain bike trails at Forrest.
Ample walking trails, waterfalls, ferny gullies, towering mountain Ash Trees, the lovely lake Elizabeth, Stevenson’s Falls and the fine dining establishments in Forrest are on or nearby this property.
NB: Our property has a rather steep driveway so guests with 4WD or AWD or rear wheel drive will have very easy access both in and out of property. Guests with front wheel drive vehicles only, can park at the top the hill and walk down the steep section to the house.
Easily accessed through Forrest (inland route) or if coming from 12 Apostles via Apollo Bay (Coastal Route).

Summary: Exceeded expectations and just loved everything about it. House is cosy and inviting with plenty of space inside and out. Beds were very comfy and loved how isolated it is! Beautiful nature all around us was such a treat and this place would be enjoyed by families or couples. Would go back for sure!

Summary: 3rd time staying and every time it just gets better. We were welcomed with a nice bottle of red, and a stocked fireplace. The walks on the property are awesome, the house has everything you need, and the natural beauty around is something to be experienced. Summary: Thank you for providing us such a beautiful property. We had a great weekend, the photos of the property dont do it justice! Loved the walking trails and the serenity. House was nice and clean with extra touches along the way which made our stay even more enjoyable! Nothing to be disappointed about here! Will definitely be back!

Summary: Such an amazing place to stay. Very private and surrounded by the beautiful bush, with bush walks right from your door. The house was spotless clean, modern, and had everything you could need, along with the beautiful views from all windows. The games room with table tennis was alot of fun and the fireplace was nice and cozy on the cold nights. The beds were huge and comfortable and I would definitely recommend this accommodation. Great communication with Gary who was always quick to respond and very helpful. Thanks for a great place to stay.

Summary: Thanks Gary for letting us stay. All of us absolutely enjoyed the property and it’s location. I spent most of the time working out when I could next return. It’s a great location to get to the Forrest MTB trails, but the property itself is perfectly set up to stay in and chill by the fire. Amazing place, and thanks again

Summary: This property is in the most beautiful location, with Otway forrest and Kangaroos literally on your doorstep. Gary and Carolyn have put thoughtful touches everywhere, so it really feels like a home away from home. We had the perfect weekend by the fire, reading books, with a view of the forrest. Highly recommend.
