Summary: Enjoyed house location near the beach, and size, big enough for everyone to have their own space,, pool was very nice too. Only 4 stars due to some maintenance issues.

Summary: My husband and I planned a small surprise wedding at this lovely house. The place is huge and easily accommodated our 90 guests. Everyone commented on how awesome the place was and how perfect it was for our occasion. They loved the view from the crow's nest, especially our out of towners who don't get to enjoy the beach as often as we do. They were all able to find parking within walking distance. JR was also very helpful and responsive during our stay. I would highly recommend it for an event, a party or just as a place to enjoy a family vacation a block from the ocean. Fantastic!!

Summary: Our entire experience with this rental was stellar, from the first email request to rent to the follow up email after our stay. The pictures of the property didn't do it justice. This home is lovely and so spacious. We rented this home while we were attending a festival in the area. When we weren't attending our planned activities we were happy to stay home and enjoy the amenities it offers; pool, fitness room, pool table, dart board...and the views from the multiple decks and balconies were spectacular! The central sound system was a bonus too because we are music lovers!! This was by far one of the best vacations we have had and I'm able to say that because our accommodations were perfect for us! JR couldn't have been more pleasant and attentive! I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who is looking for a luxury home rental!

Summary: Renting this property went very smoothly. The owner was very responsive with any questions or concerns. This was our 1st big family vacation - traveling from Oregon to Florida. Our group of 6 stayed for six days & had a blast. We had two couples & two teenagers & with the house being so large had plenty of space for privacy. We used the pool table almost daily & the girls even used the exercise room. The pool was still pretty chilly so we couldn't really use it but it was nice to hang out on the patio. The rooftop balcony gave us an awesome view of the surrounding area & ocean. We took many walks to the beach & down to the pier, going to the beach front shops & sunbathing. The location of the home was great...close to the beach, shopping & plenty of restaurants. I would recommend this home for anyone wanting to have an awesome time!!!

Summary: We just got home from a great time at Surf Shack. This was the first time any of us had been to JAX Beach. We met there for a joint bachelor/bachelorette weekend for an upcoming wedding. The house was in a great location and all it had to offer was amazing. We so enjoyed the pool and patio area. The owner JR was amazing to work with! Thank you so much for a great weekend! I highly recommend Surf Shack!

Summary: I rented this house for the weekend I graduated from law school. It was truly one of the best weekends of my life. The house is incredible... I'm talking MTV Cribs incredible. And not to mention, the owner is also a great guy, very down to earth. If you're looking for a true vacation house, there is no better deal in Jacksonville. This place is amazing... :)

Had a rehearsal dinner there, 40 people, at the house. Used kitchen to have entire meal cooked & served. Great kitchen!! Real nice neighborhood for walks to the beach (1 block). Plenty of room for everyone to eat & enjoy. Crow's nest gave a great view of the Atlantic. Super pool, couldn't get the kids out. Amenities have to be seen - they were great!! Pool table & steam room were well used and real nice!! If you see this - rent this! I live just outside DC and we all loved it. We'd go back anytime!! My son & wife loved hitting the entertainment & bars nearby.

Summary: Oh my gosh! I'm not sure my review can give this place the credit it deserves! The house is beautiful & clean! We were visiting for my daughter's wedding. The weekend was fantastic. I hosted a day after wedding cookout - used the grill on one of the decks. There were plenty of outdoor tables & chairs for sitting and talking. I had my 80 yr old mom & 3 sisters, a niece & a sister in law all stay there. The flow of the house is so perfect for entertaining. We played billiards while tropical storm Beryl came in. You can see the ocean from the kitchen which has full sliding glass doors for a fantastic view! JR has everything you would need for a great stay. We borrowed a cooler from the garage to take to the beach - he has chairs, umbrellas, pool toys. The pool was great & secluded!! Very quiet area. We walked a block down to the coffee shop every morning (even though there was a coffee maker there). The master suite was just like the picture and the master bath -- well, I could've never left -- the shower was amazing. The bed in the master was so comfortable! Everything was great! There are 3 bedrooms that are a nice size. There are 2 living rooms. There is a small kitchen on the main floor and then a full size kitchen upstairs that is gorgeous. I had never rented a house like this before so I was very nervous. JR was wonderful to work with. He even stopped by to meet us and make sure we were all set and didn't need anything (which I really appreciated). It was hard to leave this little piece of paradise. It is just like the pictures. So close to the beach. It was perfect!!

Summary: The Surf Shack is amazing! It is everything the pictures indicate and more. We rented the Surf Shack for a girls getaway. 10 women, 50+ years old. We left the house long enough to go to the spa on Saturday, run to the grocery store and go to the beach. Otherwise, we didn't want to leave the beautiful surroundings. This place is great for entertaining! Multiple decks, terraces and balconies. Open the triple sliding glass door and let the ocean breeze through the house. It would be great for families with teens, 1 - 3 couples, family reunions or a romantic getaway. RJ goes the extra mile to make everything perfect.
