No smoking.. These pretty detached cottages (Ref: B6857 and Ref: HD37, 10 yards apart) retain many original features and stand in the oldest part of Hathersage, as described by Charlotte Bronte in the novel ’Jane Eyre’, and have lovely views over gently undulating hills and fields. Locally, activities and attractions abound, including many superb walks from the doorstep, facilities for golf, fishing and horse riding. A little further afield are Castleton Blue John Caverns, Peveril Castle, Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Eyam Hall and Matlock Bath. Summary: A really characterful cottage with lots of atmosphere, large rooms, lovely views and a good garden. The kitchen equipment is simple but all of good quality. One of the best things about the cottage is its proximity to good walks and the fact that the village is connected by public transport.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Highbury Cottage. Lovely views from garden and front of the cottage. Very well equipped. Perhaps wifi would be handy, but we mafprtab;e bnaged without. Comfortable beds and lounge furniture. Very clean. Hathersage has everything you need for a holiday. Please note that towels are provided even though it states on website that they aren't.
