Positive: Jacks cottage, south view - is absolutely breathtaking! We chose this beautiful little cottage for our honeymoon, myself & my husband both had tick lists of things we wanted from our uk honeymoon & this cottage had every single one of those things. We felt so at home, I’m usually one to not be able to find my bearings when we go on holiday but from start to finish I felt so at home - my husband too felt so comfortable and relaxed. The cottage itself was perfectly designed, it truly had the wow factor when we walked in - the attention to detail made us smile when we walked in every room (I won’t spoil it for other guests…but just wow!) We didn’t get to meet lovely Ginny however we just wanted to say thank you for your little gifts & card to celebrate with us being newly weds, it made us feel so special and welcome. We did get to meet Matt & what a great guy! Such a welcoming host, he gave us great advice on where to go out for the day, where to eat, the local area & even down to the BEST Indian takeaway we’ve had! There was a little trouble with the hot tub pump which Matt made me aware of before we stayed - he ensured we still got to have our hot tub experience & replaced it with a temporary hot tub which we were so grateful for - we didn’t miss out on being able to have a nice relax after a long walk & this definitely deserves recognition for the hosts attentiveness. We’ve never stayed somewhere before & come home with inspiration on how we wish to decorate our own home & even plan a move to the country side (we’ve only just moved house!) we cannot praise this cottage, Matt & Ginny enough - we really can’t wait to stay again!

Positive: it’s a beautiful cottage, filled with thoughtful additions to make our stay enjoyable. Matt and Ginny left Derbyshire pancakes and honey for us, as well as tea, milk, coffee …and a coffee machine. We all loved the hot tub, and the special towels and slippers made it extra special. My daughter arrived first, on foot in the dark and was a little lost, but Matt rang her to help her find her way and met her at the cottage. Lots of logs, comfy beds and squishy carpets made this a lovely place to stay and we would happily return. our dog doesn’t go on sofas etc but there are rugs just to protect little furry friends, as well.

Negative: It was a bit hard getting out for 10am
