Positive: I loved everything about Wichouda Cottage! Fay and Lucas are the most exquisite hosts. They are kind, thoughtful and the most talented chefs. Honestly, I’d fly back to Thailand to stay here just to eat the food. The dishes on their menu are the most delicious and flavourful food I’ve ever tasted in Thailand! Their attention to detail made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. The accommodation is luxurious, with a room big enough for a large comfy bed, as well as a dining area. Separate bathroom and shower. There are also various areas to sit outside, which is so relaxing, as you are surrounded by stunning scenery. There are two bamboo gazebos in the gardens, where we chose to eat breakfast. Fay and Lucas serve you a delicious breakfast, whilst you sit beside rice fields overlooked by the mountains. The accommodation is situated within landscaped gardens with a small river and ponds filled with incredible fish. A really calming, peaceful and idyllic place to stay, whilst seeing Chaing Dao and the surrounding area. There’s a moped for hire, as well as push bikes. A small shop within walking distance, and larger stores / supermarkets in town, 5 minutes drive away. Wichouda Cottage, Fay, Lucas, and their cats are a real find! We will definitely be visiting again.

Positive: Close to everything, very hospitable hosts, veggie garden, fish pond, open spaces to sit, very clean, motorbike rental on premises, very friendly 13yo cat. Also, there are only 2 rooms to rent on the property so it’s very peaceful..

Positive: The owners were very nice. They greeted me as soon as I arrived and explained a lot about Chiang Dao. The room was extremely clean and big. The land around the room was huge and well maintained. Beautiful settings.

Negative: Solo Traveler Here… so my comments may not apply to couples and others. Please keep that in mind when reading by my comments. The place is a little off the path for me. I did not know what a Homestay meant when I booked. I think for me, I would have preferred a hotel with pool, so in the afternoons I can sit by the pool and sun worship. Having said this, I think this would be a perfect place for a couple to hang out and chill. Really, this place is extremely nice. The couple running it are very nice too. Please stay there, it really is a lovely place. Again, I was a single traveler and did not know what a Homestay means. The place is great.

Positive: Quiet property with expansive grounds in a pleasant neighborhood about 15 minutes from the wonderful Wat Tham Pha Plong (our favourite) and the wildlife sanctuary. The hosts speak English, French, and Thai.

Negative: The beds were a tad hard for our old bones, but by day 2 we had adjusted.

Positive: A big, clean room with comfortable bed, nice bathroom and fast WiFi. Great relaxing shared garden. Very nice and friendly owners.

Negative: The WiFi stopped working twice at my stay, but I told the owners and they fixed it quickly.

Positive: Beautiful property located in a quiet residential area off main roads, spacious room, nice lounge area outside room

Negative: Would be nice if owner provided bottled drinking water in room with no fee, coffee in room was provided but you have to supply your own water. Wifi was weak and not consistent in room and area outside room, signal strength weak made it not easy to work. No breakfast was provided, would have been nice if some type of breakfast was offered. Owner does offer to cook food with advance notice.
