Positive: Very nice private house tucked away on a side street. Good restaurant connected to house and friendly staff. Next door to train station and port so easy to walk to and from

Negative: Was a little confusing checking in to begin with but you just need to go to the restaurant to get the key. Make sure you park in correct bay or you will be scolded by police lol.

Positive: Loved the location - 1 minute from Kii Katsuura train station. Loved the way it was a designed with fabulous coffee making equipment. Very clean and functional.

Negative: There was an emergency light (to show the staircase) which we could not figure out how to switch off and this prevented us from sleeping well.

Summary: Beautiful, well-thought out design in a small space. Convenient location.

Negative: Somewhat difficult to figure out how to get the heat going. Only one sink for kitchen and bathroom.

Positive: Really conveniently located by the train station, and a few minutes' walk to the market. Loved the coffee setup in the room, that was a highlight! The bar was really nice too, had a delicious cocktail and dinner there. We stayed here at the end of our Kumano Kodo hike and it worked out really well.
