Positive: Everything! The host, Hamza, was very hospitable, helpful, friendly, and genuinely wanted me to enjoy Abu Simbel to the max. He helped me organise everything - from getting to the temples, to transport to Aswan, and dinner. The room is clean, spacious, and comfortable. AC works perfectly - important in the heat of the south! The common area is well kept and well equipped, including a washing machine and smart TV. Highly recommend!

Positive: Quiet amazing place, very friendly owner that helped me to get to the hotel from Abu Simbel temples. Host Hamza in the hostel is very sweet genuinely friendly man. Breakfast was great. Sorry there are only 10 points max that I can give ❤️

Positive: Hamza was very friendly and helpful to me. I was in abu simbal for the 22nd of October sunrise event. Hamza arranged tickets for the sound and light show and then for the sunrise event as well. Also transport to the temples was at the door to take me to the temples and return. All in all a truly wonderful experience. I cannot thank him enough. Also I had access to the washing machine which as every traveller knows is a bonus. Clean clothes for the forward journey. Thx Hamza. God bless you.

Positive: Such generosity and hospitality. We were looked after as if we were visiting family. The experience of Abou Simbel is one that we would have missed if we had not been staying at Wawat. We happened to be there at one of the 2 busiest days of the year. Assim, our host, personally arranged for us to attend all the festivities. He found us tickets to the night show and tickets to be at the temple for sunrise the next day, charging us only the ticket price in spite of all his work to get them. He then was up at 4am with us to ensure we were in the right place in the huge festival queue to see the remarkable sunrise event as designed 3000 years ago. We literally would not have been able to do this without Assim and Hamsah. And all with such warm, genuine smiles. Thank you.

Positive: Mr Awesome and Hamza were the perfect hosts. They organised everything from the tickets for the light show, the sun rising for us and transport so that all we had to do was enjoy the amazing experience. I would definitely stay there again. Thankyou so much.

Positive: We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Wawat — it was truly the highlight of our entire trip in Egypt. The owner, Assem, was incredibly warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. His kindness and hospitality made us feel completely at home. Assem speaks excellent English, and communication with him was always smooth and easy, both before and during our stay. He was always available, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our visit as comfortable as possible. The guest house itself is clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly — which was such a relief in the summer heat — and there was strong Wi-Fi and reliable hot water. Everything was well maintained. This was by far the best place we stayed during our time in Egyp. If you’re planning to visit Abu Simbel, I 100% recommend Wawat. Assem is the best host you could hope for, and staying here truly felt like being welcomed into a home, not just a hotel.

Positive: We had a perfect 1 night stay at Wawat. Assem (the owner) welcomed us with open arms and he arranged everything for us, from getting tickets to the lightshow to falafel for breakfast. He was helped by his nephew who drove us around last night. They are a great team together! Assem speaks English perfectly btw, communication with him has always been great, from when we made the booking until we left. The guest house is brand new and you can tell: it's squeaky clean, the beds and bedding are in perfect state and the much needed aircon cooled us down within minutes. There's also a communal area with couches and a table with chairs. This makes it feel very homey. Definitely the best guest house we stayed at during our Egypt trip so far. I highly recommend staying here, not only for the help you'll receive but also for the very comfortable rooms and the Nubian hospitality and warmth. Thank you so much, Assem and family 🫶
