Positive: Quiet, remote hillside setting, with wonderful views down the valley in front to the incredible Ionian blue of the sea. Remote, but not isolated: one of five similar sympathetically designed properties (and our host living next door to us in one of them). The house had everything we needed (and more!); the bed was comfortable (we slept well). One additional delight was to find that there were swallows nesting under the eaves (and one above the light on our balcony); waking up to the sound of swallows singing and watching the flock swooping round in their search for food on the wing, was magical. Facing directly west you get wonderful sunsets! The pool is small, but delightfully refreshing (and is cleaned every morning). The nearest shops are a few km away, but a man in his van turns up each morning (except Sunday) selling bread and various provisions. But what made this a perfect holiday for us were our hosts, Elena and her daughter Felicie. Never before have we been made to feel so welcomed as guests. Stunningly beautiful island -- but be prepared for crossing hills on (sometimes very narrow!) winding roads. Overall one of our best holidays, in a stunning location, with exceptionally helpful and friendly hosts.

Positive: We had the best stay due to the hospitality of Felicie. She went above and beyond to help us during the stay from printing work papers and a gracious late checkout to checking up on us and giving us tips around the island. We were truly touched by her kindness. You can tell she loves what she does. The house was comfortable and we loved being outside on the balcony with the great view. The washing machine is so convenient and you have everything you need in the house. Great beach umbrella too.

Negative: If I could give one suggestion it would be to have darker blinds to block the sunlight but it is a minor thing

Positive: I can recommend this place with great pleasure. Vissala Village is a beautifully situated five cottages on a hill, built in a traditional style. Each of them has its own private pool (during our stay in August 2024, cleaned daily), convenient parking and plenty of space around the pool. In the cottages, we had two floors with a toilet downstairs and a toilet with a shower upstairs (this was the layout in our Peonia cottage). But the most important are the people, Elena and her daughter, who throughout our stay made sure that we had everything we needed and the rooms were perfectly cleaned. We hope to come back here again and we will warmly recommend this place to our friends.
