Positive: Both of the spaces that we were in were well appointed and warm - and very prettily renovated..All of the reception staff are terrific.

Negative: There was a booking mix-up which meant we weren't in the room we had booked for either night of our two night stay. The staff worked hard to rectify this, which I really appreciated, but while both spaces were very nice, it was not the stay we had expected (and splashed out on), and we never got to relax properly because of moving.

Positive: We only stayed for a short night, arriving late and leaving in the morning without breakfast. The room had a cosy, old-fashioned charm and a very comfortable bed, which made for a good night’s sleep. The kettle, tea and coffee in the room was a nice detail. The bathroom was clean and spacious, a bit outdated. A lot of parking space. It was a thoughtful touch that the staff left a key for us, as we arrived after reception had closed.

Negative: It would’ve been helpful to know in advance that late check-in (with the key waiting for us) was possible. We weren’t sure what time we’d arrive, and after hours, there was only a voicemail, so we had no way to confirm what to do - this left us a bit uncertain until we got there. The hotel felt a bit musty, and the space was tight; not much room to move around, especially with two large suitcases. Also worth noting: there’s no elevator and the corridors are narrow, which could be tricky with heavy luggage.
