Positive: Great location as a base for visiting Hokitika and Arthur's Pass. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Nice room and good facilities.

Negative: The kitchen is outside, so it does get quite cold in winter, but not much of an issue.

Positive: The welcome, even though I had not met the proprietor in person. The home felt and smelt like walking into a wairua space, so immediately we felt relaxed. We three wahine work long hours and came to the coast to work some hours more. To return to a whare that was warm, connected to a community of other travelers within the Kumara township of the West Coast was a privilege. Thank you.

Positive: We loved the location. Nestled away but not too far a walk from the locals. Beautiful surroundings and very peaceful. The premises were kept clean and everyone was respectful of each other, a great environment!
