Positive: The water was warm and the A/C worked (at least until electricity was cut at 10am the next day)

Negative: There was no toilet paper. Staff didn't introduce themselves. The room was swarming with mosquitoes (and one gecko). At 6am the next day prayer was transmitted over speakers at full blast for over half an hour, making it impossible to sleep. At around 10am the next day electricity was cut. The beds and linens have seen better times.

Summary: It's okay, if you travel on a budget and don't have needs beyond a roof and warm water

Positive: Lovely family, and Sachin was so helpful, kind and welcoming. The room was spacious and the A/C worked wonderfully. Beautiful house and nice courtyard. Good shower pressure. About half an hour walk to the beach which was fine for us. A few eateries around, a train station quite close.

Positive: Good AC, comfortable bed. Sachin, the owner, is very kind and very helpful. There was no facilities (towel, soap, etc) at the place.

Negative: There were less thing in the room from what was told in the site

Positive: I had a great stay here with the friendly hosts.. The room was spacious and comfortable with A/C and a fan. The outside terrace is in the shade for the majority of the day and so is an ideal spot to relax in. The location while away from the town itself is in an authentic Sri Lankan neighbourhood. I liked it very much but others may not be so keen.

Negative: The facilities on offer are very different from those listed. For example there are no tea coffee making facilities, shared kitchen, the wardrobe in my room was locked to name just a few. I think that the owner has just ticked every box available on the listing form. To me they were minor issues that didn't distract from my stay but it's something to be aware of.
