Positive: A true home away from home Our stay at Aloe Serene in Negombo was absolutely wonderful. The place is very clean, well maintained, and in a great location—quiet yet perfectly positioned to explore the area. The breakfasts were outstanding: every morning the owner personally prepared delicious traditional Sri Lankan breakfasts, freshly made with so much care. Honestly, they were some of the best local breakfasts we had in Sri Lanka. But the real highlight of Aloe Serene is the owner herself. Her hospitality is exceptional—warm, genuine, and heartfelt. She truly makes you feel at home. We also had the pleasure of enjoying a home-cooked Sri Lankan lunch prepared by her, and it was absolutely amazing—authentic, flavorful, and made with love. Laundry service is also available, which is a big plus when traveling. If I had to give a maximum score, it would definitely go to the owner: her cooking, kindness, and attention make this place special. Aloe Serene isn’t just a place to stay—it’s an experience where you feel welcomed like family. Highly recommended. 💛
