Positive: The location was great, with a lovely view of the river. The breakfast was pleasant, we recommend the Spanish omelette and banana donuts :) The bed was big and comfortable, and the bathroom was big enough so that when you shower the whole floor is not soaked. Gabriel and Penny were helpful and available to answer any questions. They also booked up our boat trip which we appreciated.

Negative: It is a tricky place to find so best to ask someone to direct you as soon as you get off the boat. We found that for the price we paid we were hoping for something a bit less basic and less tired-looking. Although we are also happy staying in basic accommodation, we would expect the price to reflect that, which is less the case here as the photos made it look better and more up-kept than it was. We think it would also be nice if the communal area was cleaner (there were seats but too dusty to sit in) and free from some general trash. The place has good potential and just needs some TLC. We wish Gabriel and Penny good luck.

Positive: Muang ngoy is a very authentic village. The owners said some spots to visit and we had lunch at their family restaurant and it was tasty. We were picked at the pier, like every other guest house does there. The views from the balcony its the crown jewel of this place! The hammock also its great.

Negative: the room it self was not the best and not what we booked... we had a minor problem because the booking was made a long time before coming and the price was not correct when we booked. the owner sent an auto message through booking to ask for us to cancel and we did not see. a reminder through direct message would be appreciated so everything is settled straight. when we arrived the owner explained us the price was wrong when we booked so we needed to pay a little bit more. the room that they gave us was not in the best condition but we did not really care after a long trip. the breakfast is not buffet.
